Hello two.... get back with some more details if this first response does not answer your question. If you have a typical shallow or deep well system, it is set up intentionally so that the pump does not come on every time the water is turned on. Instead, let's say the pump is set to come on when the pressure drops down to 20 pounds per square inch and turn off when the pressure hits 40 pounds per square inch.

As long as the pressure is within that range, turning on the water will not turn on the pump. Joe

Thanks for choosing Fixya!

Does my astro van use a timing belt for the water pump?

Your water pump is driven externally by the serpentine belt...your starting problem is not water pump related...have the Crank Position Sensor intermittent starting problem like yours is usually caused by this sensor being cracked...Much less costly!! Hope this helps.

My 1993 2door eagle summit has a problem NOW!!! i got it used i payed $1100cfor it ugh! and everytime i start it, it wont start!!!! at all it makes some clicking sound everytime i start it and when it does...

Several posibilities:

1. The coolant temp sensor is not connected or the wire are broken. See 2 pin black connector on the thermostat housing.

2. Does the starter spin the engine? If so, the clicking is the fuel pump relay. If not, the starter needs service.

3. The distributor has two internal parts: a coil assembly and IGN Transistor module. Coils can be come intermittant and cause hard starts. The transistor either works or not.

I'd suspect #3 is the problem you have.

Pressure stops and starts intermittently

With the engine turned off, pour liquid TSP into the fresh water inlet until it comes out the other end at first just water that is already within the pump will come out but make sure you put enough TSP that it starts to come out the wand outlet. Then, let it sit for 48 hours and don't run it at all. This is how I fixed my no pressure problem owner of Honda 5.5 with Comet pressure washer pump

Changed fuel pump and fuel filter, now x5 2002 won't start

1. use scanner to find out if there's trouble code.

2.. it's not clear if the starter (motor) turns as you try to start the engine, if not, check starter motor including intermittent (maybe) problem with the ignition switch.

3.if starter motor turns everytime you try to start: check the electrical ignition system: coils & spark plugs

With the water running the MQ pump runs intermittently

This is a problem with your bladder in the pressure tank or the pressure switch. Ether one will produce this cycling on and off. Good luck.

Water underneath my Sears Kenmore washer. Ive had

It could be splashover depending on what you have in the washer (different load sizes). Sometimes the water just splashes over the sides. But I have seen pumps that leak out their seal intermittently. I would suspect the pump.
