Your filter may be clogged if not check for clogs in the fittings running between them. You will have some loss of pressure pressurizing the filter unit but it should not be a drastic loss.

Hi Kenneth, Have the fuel pump output pressure checked. The pressure at the test point should be more than three bar (+43 lbs per square inch) A gentle trickle is not enough, it should be a fountain! (Always wear safety googles before testing) Make sure you've connected the delivery and return pipes correctly and the pipes are not crimped or bent causing a restriction. If all is okay maybe replace the pump again. Regards John

Hansgrohe Ecostat (with part 94282000 thermostat). Shower runs fine for a few minutes then boiler shuts down and shower runs goes cold. Boiler starts up again after 30 seconds and runs fine for a few...

Check the 94282000 cartridge for debris on the filters. If your boiler requires a certain flow rate to come on, then you must get enough flow through the cartridge to make that happen. Also, if your boiler is producing very hot water, the cartridge will self regulate and reduce the hot flow accordingly. try lowering the output temperature of the boiler to resolve that possibility.

When my spa runs thru its heat up cycle and gets to temp it shuts off and shows FL on my temp pad. I have to shut power off to spa and reset it all before it will start again.

Thank you for posting your question here on

Generally speaking, an FL error, or any error with FL in the message, deals with flow switch failures. The switch ensures there is enough system flow so the heater will not over-heat the water. It may be the switch itself is bad but you should first check for system problems that will cause this switch to open.

Assuming your pump is on and any valves in your pipes are set correctly it could indicate something is restricting water flow too much and needs to be cleaned to fix your flow rate and allow the heater to switch back on.

Start at the skimmer(s) baskets and then the pump strainer basket if so equipped. You should also clean your filter(s). If your cartridge(s) are older, washing them off may no longer return them to a clean enough state to allow enough water to flow. At start up there is enough flow to close the switch but as the water starts to circulate they quickly load up. The switch remains closed until the system shuts off the first time but then will not re-close until the system has settled enough. At least that is one possibility.

If nothing changes after this maintenance you should replace the switch. You do not need to buy the exact same part; only one rated to operate at the same voltage and that has the same method of connecting it to the pipe well.

Heater starts and runs for several minutes and then turns off

Since the unit runs for a couple minutes, I would first check for proper water flow. Find the pressure switch. It is usually round with two wire terminals and a copper/metal tube attached to it. With the wires attached, use a jumper wire to bypass the switch. If it runs longer check for flow problems.. (WARNING don't jump the switch for too long!!! Just enough time to see if the run cycle improves). Clean all the skimmers baskets, pump basket, backwash the filter (if a cartridge filter clean the filters). Try firing the heater again. If it still shuts down, replace the pressure switch. I never recommend adjusting it. Adjusting it too low can damage your heater and/or cause injury.

After I vacuum the pool, backwash it and then turn the filter system back on it blows in a lot of green water back into the pool. What should I do?

1st Green water is algee. Kill the algee in the pool. 2nd when you're finished backwashing the filter. Stop pump and move valve handle to rinse position. Then restart pump. Run in rinse mode until glass is clear. Then stop pump again, and move lever to filter position. When you're backwashing, you're reversing the flow of the water through the filter. When you switch directly back to filter, anything left loose in the filter flows back to the pool. When you select rinse, it reverses the flow back to normal, but keeps the water going to the waste outlet until clear, that way that green puff of water will go out the drain.
