Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Here are my complete guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
-------------------------------------

If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and most are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play!

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!

i frequently clean the drain filter every two month.
but it is true that i found lots of water coming out this time, but i didn't find any solid objects inside there.
I never thought of watching the Spinning motor, so i tried it this time as u advised, and it is rotating perfectly!
dunno what else might be the cause of the problem.

    Hi again,
Interesting that you said that you 'found lots of water coming out this time' meaning that the pump had NOT completely emptied the drum BUT the drain motor 'is rotating perfectly'. Check via the filter after every completed wash cycle and see if there is always water left inside. If there is, 2 possibilities- the water sensor is indicating that the washer is empty when it isn't OR, although the drain motor appears to be capable of shifting all of the water, it isn't. It's capable when gravity is helping it but once the level is sufficiently far enough down it cannot cope. I would chance a risky way to find out if the motor is, to again run an empty spin and carefully test the power of the motor by maybe wearing a strong glove and seeing how easy it is to slow the motor down. If it's clearly difficult then the motor is OK. If it's easy then it isn't OK!
    Sorry, my next thoughts!
    Good luck,
    John C

actually, i did that test yesterday, and i found it easy to stop the spin.
but easy compared to what, that what i dont know:)
the machine is running now, i will check the drain after it finish, if i find water then most likely i will change the drain motor.

When you think that the pump has to push the waste water up and out, it needs to be fairly powerful! Hope you manage to cure it and good luck,

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Sorry but you have not mentioned whether you were able to check the function of the drain motor itself- it could be blocked/jammed which would account for the machine not stopping (still trying to drain but being unsuccessful). Soaked clothes take ages to dry in a dryer!

Following are my complete and hopefully 'coverall' pre-typed guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.
Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

I have front loader washing machine and the rubber has got mould and having difficulty in removing the black mould

  • Saturate an old cloth with white vinegar. Alternatively, you might use petroleum jelly on the cloth to remove the mold.Pull the gasket out gently with your hands to reveal the mold and mildew buildup inside the folds of the gasket.Wipe the mold away from the gasket with the cloth. Continue working to wipe away all mold from the folds of the rubber gasket.Dry the folds of the gasket with a dry cloth when you finish removing the mold.Repeat this procedure at least once per month to prevent mold and mildew from forming. If you notice mold occurring more frequently, clean it off when you see it.

  • Tips for Preventing Mold & Smelly Problems:
    • Always leave the door and dispenser unit slightly ajar after the laundry is done. Front-load washers and the detergent/softener dispenser drawer must dry out.
    • Never leave a wet washload in the washer overnight; remove it when the washing cycle is complete and leave the door open.
    • After a load is done, always rotate the drum with your hand to see and remove all items. Some could be sticking to top or sides of the washer drum.
    • Use softener sheets in the dryer instead of liquid softeners in the washer.
    • Liquid detergents may leave less residue than powdered formulas which may not dissolve properly.
    • Use less than the recommended detergent level for your load. Too much detergent can cause a residue build up. Experiment until you find a minimum measurement that delivers a clean wash. This is also a money saver.
    • Occasionally wash some loads such as whites, linen and towels in warm or hot water to help flush out wash residue.
    • Always clean your washer as per your product manual. High efficiency front-load models have a cleaning cycle and it's imperative that you periodically run this cycle as directed.
    • Check the gasket just inside the door opening and remove any visible debris. You can also wipe it to speed the drying process.
    • Always use HE detergents with high efficiency front-load washers. Specially marked HE laundry detergent is low sudsing and is recommended for these low-water washers.
    • If this advice was helpful a vote with the thumbs up would be appreciated. Thanks.

How do I translate the manual?!?

hi i have this machine ,when you open the draw on the left hand side ,the detergent goes in the largest section ,fabric softner in the mesh one ,pre wash (bleach etc in other one)now for washing just use cycles 1,2.3,or 4 one being the longest cycle 4 being shortest middle knob is temp, last knob is dryer, if you want it to dry automatically after a load of washing put it on the iron or other to window looking symbols ,otherwise if not drying have it on 0.i would send u a manual but i've lost mine hence why i'm on his site at all.Hope this helps get u started.

Aml 125 washer - washing for hours

i would never suggest working or attempting to work on a machine covered by guarantee but this sounds like there is a fault with the heat cycle, obviously the machine keeps tumbling until the heat reaches the right temperature, with a heat fault it will not advance, to test without removing screws etc, press any heat option button like economy or turn heat dial to no heat etc, see what happens next. hope i have helped, if so rate me please, please note most engineers know if a machine of that age has been worked on and this will void any guarantee
