I had the same problem after a long period of sitting idle , the ink clogs in the cartridge tray and no amount of cleaning clears it, you just use ink. I know it says don;t dissanble the print head but I have done it twice now and if you're careful its fine, remove the two screws that hold the printhead to the underside of the cartridge holder and gently lift the head out starting from the opposite side to where the copper coloured sheet goes around the corner from side to bottom it hinges on this sheet and it held in position by the screws and the two extremeties of the white printhead block.using tweezers remove the rubber seal which usually stick to the printhead - carefully, clean the printhead I used Maplins electronic foam cleaner spray and left the whole head tied in a plastic bag overnight, or several hours it cleans fast with the spray.
take the head out and just let the solvent evaporate, or wash it under the tap the trick is to refit the rubber to the holes in the cartridge holder first and then put the printhead back in position and lock it in place with the screws. should be fine.do a head alignment print all the colours should be sorted.

blank pages and bad print are not the same problem. Regarding costly ink, a epson printer tech told me once that the secrete to cleaning a bad print head was to run deep clean 7 times in a row and then a head test and it has worked for me several times on other printers (not an expert here, just personal experience).
Additional note, I have seen both cleaning chemicals and cleaning cartridges on the web, example, searching google for one for my printer I would search for cc-bci-6c which is for a canon cyan cleaning cartridge. Don't know if they work but in case it helps.. good luck.

1. Get compressed air
2. Run Printhead under HOT water, do not worry about contacts getting slightly wet.
3. Blow compressed air with straw attachment into screens where the cartridge nozzle sits on printhead. then let it sit and dry.
4. reinstall print test page
5. if this fails open paint/photoshop and print a page of the color that is not printing correctly. rinse and repeat until colors flow freely.
I have several ip4300s and I have yet to give up the ghost on a printer with a clog ujsing this method.

Testimonial: "Thanks. I've thoroughly cleaned the print head and washed it out. I think it was totally clogged. With nozzle cleaning it now seems to be printing ok!"
