Boot up your computer and press F8 after the Windows boot screen (you may need to press it more than once, in succession.) At the menu you will see choices, use the arrow key on the lower right of the keyboard and choose Safe Mode with Networking. Your screen may look different in this mode, but you can still use the internet.
Try the instructions on this page: Download the removal tool SymNRT.exe and after downloading, click on the file to run it. After you have run the tool reboot and voila !! You should be back in business.

Computer screen keeps freezing. How do I stop this? I use Windows Vista.

Close ALL unnessary programs. What are you doing when it freezes? Do you have a good malware program? if so run a full scan. Also download CCLEANER freeware at: This program will remove the junk fromyour machine. In the TOOLS section, STARTUP, disable ALL unnessary startup programs and UNINSTALL ALL TOOBARS , they are killers on broswers. On, there are many FREEWARE programs to Tuneup a slow machine. I suggest MALWAREBYTES to remove malware from your machine it's freeware: In the installation UNCHECK the TRIAL PRO version, you want the freeware version. I'm playing a game that uses tab key a lot. The dvd hotkey is right next to the tab and it tries to load that over my game. How can I disable that hotkey. The program came with the computer and I...

Uninstall the hotkey software from Control Panel (Add/Remove Programs in XP, Programs and Features in Vista, 7)

Alternatively install Startup Control Panel and uncheck the program from startup. The program works great in XP, for Vista and 7 there is more playing around:
  • Download the zip file
  • Click Extract All files
  • Right click on the program
  • Choose Run as Administrator
  • Install the program
  • Open Control Panel and choose Classic View
  • Run Startup
  • Uncheck something in HKLM and it will duplicate
  • Close Startup
  • Wait for Windows to pop up a box
  • Click Reinstall using recommended settings
  • Allow the program to run
  • Now you can remove the programs from startup.
  • Restart your computer

Says system update 3of3 and then keeps rebooting for hours

Try booting into safe mode and uninstall the update you just did.

If that does not help, and if this is a windows XP system, you may try downloading and using dial-a-fix to reset all the windows update settings.

I have not tried this program on vista or windows 7 yet.

Did you recently delete or uninstall a program? The startup folder may be looking for the key in your registry, which may lead to a now-unused file extension.

The "easy" fix (so as not to mess directly with the registry manually), go to, download "cccleaner", and run it's registry component (scan for issues and fix). Ccleaner is non-spyware, non-ad-ware and is very efficient in catching most "leftovers" in the registry (also is beautiful for cleaning out your cache, temp files, and temp internet with secure file shredder. And (drum roll) it's free :)

Hope this helps!

PS -- IF... by chance, you didn't uninstall anything, and haven't deleted any program recently, you MAY want to run your antivirus software (full scan). I would suggest rebooting in safe mode, downloading the latest definitions, and running a full scan)... good luck! -- Roonie

Program won't load

Boot your computer in Safe Mode by holding down the F8 key during boot-up, and selecting Safe Mode from the list when it appears. Once you're in Safe Mode, click Start, then Run, and type "msconfig" (without the quote marks) in the box. You'll get a screen with various options. Choose the Startup Programs tab and clear all the checkboxes on the list, then restart your computer normally. If the problem disappears, it means some program is trying to start automatically and causing your system to hang. To determine which program that is, re-enable your startup programs one by one, by going back into msconfig and checking its box, then rebooting. When your system hangs again on boot-up, you'll have figured out which software is the culprit. Uninstall it using its own uninstall routine or by going into Control Panel, Add & Remove Programs.

Installed Samsung CLX2160

Havent heard of this before, didnt find any support buletins either, what you need to do is go in to the computer in safe mode, and uninstall the drivers, if you can get tem uninstalled then just run msconfig and disable the startup items that the samsung printer has, go back into windows in normal mode and uninstall the drivers. then go to samsungs website and get the lates drivers for the printer. If there was an issue the new drivers will have been updated to resolve the problem

hope that helps
