Question about Video Game Consoles & Games

1 Answer

I have a new DSI XL that my grandchild has been using for about 2 months. All of a sudden, the battery will not hold a charge or at least that's what I think. We put it on charge one night and the next morning, that DSI would not turn on. When you insert the charger the yellow light will blink a few times and then do nothing. Could this be the battery and if so does the battery have to be replaced after only 2 months?

It certainly sounds like the battery. However, if the DS is only 2 months old, your best bet would be to call nintendo; the item is likely still covered by the warranty. Dont' fix it yourself. Attempting to do so will void the warranty

HOW DO I UNFREAZE ABLACK DSI

  • 1 Hold down the "Power" button for at least four seconds to turn the DSi off. If the system powers off, hold the Power button to turn the system back on and reset the operating system. The system should no longer be frozen. If the system doesn't power off, go to the next step.
  • 2 Plug the Nintendo DSi to the power outlet using its AC adapter. Allow the system to charge for two to three hours. A battery may be recharged 500 times or less before being depleted. Once charged, hold down the "Power" button to turn on and reset the operating system. The system should unfreeze itself; if not, follow the next step.
  • 3 Remove the battery from the Nintendo DSi. Unplug the AC adapter from the DSi. Loosen the two screws with a Philips screwdriver on the battery cover. Remove the cover, then remove the battery. Put the old battery back in or replace it with a new battery. Removing and resituating an old battery will sometimes jolt the system and allow it to unlock itself. Replace the battery cover and retighten the screws. Then, try to hold down the "Power" button to unfreeze the system.

    Ds battery problem

Ok I know what has gone on here as it had happened to my DS-Lite as long as you bought a genuine DS from here in Oz or which ever country you live in and not 1 from China Etc as 99.999999% of DS consoles from China Etc are fakes

First Of all the problem is that the battery pack has failed completely the molecular structure of the battery is breaking back down into it's original state and when you recharge the battery pack it can not excite the molecules enough to completely charge as some of the molecules are dead and such will decrease the performance of your battery. You will need to buy a replacement battery pack or as it is a new console it should be covered under warranty as on a full charge on my DS Lite I can play for 15 hours+ non stop playing.

Ok the fix is very easy all you need is a small star screwdriver.

Step 1. Take the small star screwdriver and undo the screw that holds the battery compartment closed and take off the cover.

Step 2. Take out the old battery and set aside for proper disposal.

Step 3. Place the new battery in the battery compartment it should only go in 1 way.

Step 4. Replace the battery compartment door, replace the small screw and tighten.

Step 5. Charge the battery pack until light goes out.

Step 6. Play away my friend as now you should have fixed the problem.

Please Note that the time difference between consoles playing time depends on the actual ds console.

DS & DS-Lite are your better performers battery wise at up to 19 hours continuous play.
DSi to the current DSi-XL 3DS will vary from 3 to 6 hours due to the extra power needed to run the cameras etc.

My nintendo has got a problem for a few months now. when turn on the power button, it has given an error messagge "an error has occurred. press and hold the power button to turn the system off....

If the following error message appeared in your DSi or DSI XL: "An error has occurred. Press and hold the POWER button to turn the system off...", It means that your Nintendo has been updated (by the Internet) to the version 1.4.2 (or 1.4.3) or you bought it updated. In this case your DSi XL or DSi doesn't work with any flashcard in the market.

If you don't have an updated flashcard, the solution requieres both "updating the kernel of your flashcard" and also "patching it". I hope it helps you.

When I turn the dsi on it shuts right off

    Power shuts off during use
What color is the power light when the system shuts off?
Red: If the power light is red, or flashing red, when the system turns off, then the system's battery needs to be charged. Or the battery needs to be replaced if it does not hold a charge
Blue: If the power light is blue when the system turns off, then there appears to be a problem with the system and it will need to be repaired.

My dsi is not charging the battery light is blinking and it will not turn on

this is either a battery, DS, or charger issue. it is recommended to try charging with a different cable, one that you know for sure works. if it successfully charges then it is a problem with your charger, i recomend you buy a new one. if it still will not charge, the problem will either be your DS or battery. your DS's wiring may have been cut loose internally, or the battery can no longer hold a charge or is malfunctioning. if you have used the battery for an extensive amount of time it will slowly lose its ability to hold an electric charge. this loss of charge can also be caused by leaving the battery drained for a large amount of time. if you have concluded that the problem is your battery, you may order a new battery from nintendo. dsi here http://store.nintendo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=150208&currency=USD&catalogId=10001&tranId=0&lastAction=setCurr&storeId=10001&languageId=-1&categoryId=66209&ddkey=http:SetCurrencyPreference and dsi xl herehttp://store.nintendo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=167217&currency=USD&catalogId=10001&tranId=0&lastAction=setCurr&storeId=10001&languageId=-1&categoryId=66716&ddkey=http:SetCurrencyPreference

Nintendo DSi XL, only 5 months old, will not read game cartridges unless I push down and hold them in. HELP!

It might be that the pins that read the cartridge have been pushed too far down.

You could attempt to fix it yourself by opening the console up and lifting/bending the pins slightly.
However this isnt recommended unless you have done anthing similair before.

Ideally you should contact either the store it was bought from and use any warranty that the console is under or contact nintendo directly.

I have not used my tomtom for a few months , an when attempting to use it today , it was dead . nothing at all help tomtom xl roseden@telus.net

connect it to a power supply and leave it for a few hours A battery that is totally depleted will take some time to recover and not show that it is even being charged as power is too low to light the LED.

It will require a full charge of about 10 hours to get it fully back into service. But the LED will ( or should turn on) after about 1-2 hrs depending on the condition of the battery. If after the charge the battery does not hold a charge lasting on average about 2 hrs , then change the battery.
