I cannot delete any of my old emails that I have received

Disposing of old messages will make it easier to locate the e-mail you do want.
It also frees up space on your hard disk.
These instructions should work for most e-mail programs.
Select the e-mail message by clicking on it.
Press the Delete key or Delete on the toolbar, or drag the message to the Trash or Deleted Items folder.

Recovering deleted items in Outlook 2003 and 2007

If you accidently deleted items like Emails, contacts, calendar, tasks, etc from your mailbox using Outlook, you can recover them as they are first transferred to the Deleted Items folder of that mailbox. But even if you delete them from the Deleted Items folder you can still recover them. This feature is enabled by default in Outlook 2007 but if you are using 2003 then you'll have to modify System registry.
Enabling recovery of deleted items in Outlook 2003
1. Start Registry Editor(Regedt32.exe).
2. Locate and click the following key in the registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftExchangeClientOptions
3. On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the following registry value:
Value name: DumpsterAlwaysOn
Data type: DWORD
Value data: 1
4. Close the Registry Editor.
Now when you start Microsoft Outlook 2003 you'll be able to see a new option- Recover Deleted Items in the tools menu.
Recovering deleted items in Outlook 2007:
1. In the folder from where you deleted the item, or in the Deleted Items folder, click
2. Recover Deleted Items on the Tools menu.
Click an item and then click Recover Selected Items
NOTE: If an item doesn't appear in the Recover Deleted Items dialog box then you can't recover it.

Left click on first e-mail to be deleted. Hold Shift Key down and click on last e-mail to be deleted. All emails should now be highlighted. Hit Delete key and confirm deletion if asked. All should be gone. They may now be in the Deleted folder; to get rid of completely, right click on the Deleted folder and choose Empty the deleted items folder.

I have out look express for my emails, my problem has just happened.. i can receive emails but i can send them out , but my problem is i cannot delete my emails even if i carried them to another folder to...

Hello,

I believe you need to delete the Deleted Items.dbx file because it is most likely corrupted that's why you're having problems when deleting something on your OE.

To delete the DBX, do the following.

You need to have Hidden files and Folders showing.
At the top of any folder(My Documents for example) click Tools>Folder Options>View tab.
Scroll down the list and place a check next to "Show Hidden Files and Folders" then click Apply and OK.

In OE click on Tools>Options>Maintenance tab>Store Folder.
On the Store Location box, highlight the address by pressing the Tab key on your keyboard.
Press Control+C (both at the same time) to copy the address to the clipboard.
Click Cancel on all boxes and close OE.

Click on Start>Run.
Press Control+V (both at the same time) to paste the address into the command line and click OK.
The Store Folder containing all the DBX files should open.
In the Store folder, delete the Deleted Items.dbx and close the Store folder.
Open OE and see if you can now delete messages

Hope this works for you!

Computer won't delete items from inbox on outlook express

Do you have IMAP on your email server? IMAP is a duplicate of what you have in your email program, if your not deleting the messages on the server but only on your email program then your server space will be full and it will give people that send you email that message.

Messages arrive in the deleted items folder

It sounds like this could be an issue of Message Rules.

Open Outlook Express.

Go to the menu at the top and Choose Tools >Message Rules> Mail

At this point, the 'Message Rules' dialog opens. Check all your Message Rules to see if there are any Message Rules that direct email to either the 'Deleted Items' folder or to an non-existing folder.

Select the Message Rule, click 'Delete' to remove it from the list and click 'OK' to close the 'Message Rules' dialog.

Note: If you did not find a problematic Message Rule, please delete all your Message Rules, as they may be corrupted.

Please let us know if you are still having trouble after this process. If this information was helpful, please take a moment to rate the solution.

Outlook express 6.0 outbox problems

This is a common problem with outlook express. The files have become too large for outlook express. I recommend blowing out all the emails. Try first empty the deleted items. If it will not delete. You need to find the folder associated with this identity. That would be in C drive then documents and settings then your username then application data (hidden folder) then identities. There will be a folder with a crazy name of numbers and letters. Go into this folder and you will see your inbox folder and outbox, sent box etc. Delete the folders that you dont have important emails in and this will dump that whole box. Make sure outlook express is closed when you do this. When you reopen outlook express it will recreate these folders empty. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Microsoft outlook server errors 0x80040900 and 0x800ccc0f will only download same 2 emails when there are 9 to receive. Also server times out have checked that box for keeping email on server is not ticked...

the above problems were corrected by going to webmail.com and typing in the email address that was malfunctioning. The inbox was displayed as a preview pane and I checked the boxes of the email that was clogging the system deleted them and exited. I then signed on to my email address and downloaded my remaining messages without any problems. Hope this helps others.
cheers
