It sounds like the magnetron may have either failed or is not being supplied with the extremely high voltage required to run it.

YOUR SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT

This is a job for a professional but if you are safety clued up, here's instruction.

If it is the type with an "Invertor", they are not user serviceable and should be directed to an authorised repair agent for continued safety, otherwise if conventional;

Make sure the !!!!any capacitors are discharged!!!!! before attempting any sort of repair.
Check the door interlock switches first then the high voltage diode with either an AVO model 8 or moving coil meter on high resistance range for short circuit, (DVM's won't show the fault!), the capacitor can fail and go short circuit, the feed fuse on the primary of the high voltage transformer and then finally, the magnetron is best checked by substitution.
Hope that helps.

My spacemaker 2.0 pvm2070dmww microwave is not heating and the turntable is not turning everything else is working fine.

The problem is more than likely a bad door switch, a digital meter is the best option for testing to find the defective one. If you have one post back for instructions or have serviceman repair it.

It burns thru the glass trray and melts the wheeled tray holder...

There are two possible reasons for this to occur.
1.there was dirt on the turntable and that carbonized and got so hot that it melted the tray. That heat would've melted the plastic spider as well.
2.the microwave oven was turned on with nothing. or almost nothing, in it: the glass turntable is what is known as "a matching load". That means it is there as a safety precaution, protecting the magnetron, in case there's nothing in the microwave oven when it is energized. As such, the glass turntable can get hot enough to melt. That, in turn, will melt the plastic spider.
If either of those is the case, it is OK to buy a new spider & turntable.

Unit turns on, turntable turns, but nothing heats

Classic symptoms for failed door interlock safety switches, though it could be other trouble.

Remove the cover and check the operation of the little micro switches that operate when you close the door.

DONT TOUCH THE SILVER CAN - LETHAL.

If you regularly open the door while cooking, the contacts in these little switches become burned. When burned badly enough, they cannot make contact. When they cannot make contact, the mocrowave doesnt know the door is closed and will not turn on the magnatron resulting in no heat.

If you need more help, let me know.

GE Spacemaker JVM1533WD turntable sometimes works, mostly doesn't

The part with the three rollers that holds your turntable needs to be replaced if you want it to turn. That plastic and those rollers get cooked over time like everything else. The microwave is designed to basically cook with the moisture in anything placed inside the microwave. Those rollers have probably become warped enough so they don't roll properly when heated and that is why they do work somewhat after a night of nonuse. You may be able to find one at a local repair shop for almost nothing. Those parts are pretty generic. Even at a garage sale or flea market. Other than buying from a local dealer you can go on the internet at www.mwoparts.com and get any part for the microwave. Good luck and God bless you.

I have a built-in GE microwave Model JTP85W0A1WW built in April 1999. It appears to work (fan turns on and digital readout counts down) but the turntable no longer turns and nothing is heated. Seems...

I had the exact same problem. There are two switches on the door. One is a safety lockout switch for the magnatron. The switch just wears out.

Microwave stopped working

to indutolia

The original problem was probably a bad turntable motor, which is pretty easy to replace.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

Now I'd say you have a bad door switch (whether upper or lower depends on the model number) or a problem with the door switch mount.

This is a pretty simple problem to fix, too: http://www.microwavedisplay.com/doorsw.txt

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

to lostonisland - Your problem is different enough that it should be a separate post. Please include your brand and model number when you repost.
