Question about Whirlpool Dryers

Open Question

GEW9250PLO Dryer dose not start. There are very dim lights on control panel but they dont do anything when buttons are pushed or nob is turned. I did the trouble shooting and said to replace control board i have replace control board and it seamed to work. After it had been pluged in for a day it started doing the same thing. After unplugging and repluging it started to work again. After leaving it plugged in it started doing the same thing. Is there something else wrong with the dryer.

I have the same problem. I haven't replaced the control board yet. Don't want to spend the money if it isn't the problem.

aye, see if you can enter the diagnosis mode. What we are looking for is the F-02 code. This will flash when there is a stuck button or user interface problem and only displayed in the test mode. With the unit plugged in and all indicator lights off, select any button except stop. Press for 3 seconds, release for 3 seconds, press for 3 seconds, release for 3 secnds and press for 3 seconds. If you did it right 88 should appear. Press the same button again and if there is a error, it should show up. If no error code shows, open the consol and check the p-5 connector. This will be the interface ribbon to the board. Reseat it and see if the problem stops. Catriver

SOURCE: Whirlpool Calypso Dryer Electrical Problem

Problem resolved. Although the membrane control panel passed the diagnostic test, it was defective. Probably a low voltage conductor went to ground, allowing the buttons to operate but throwing the control board into error mode.

Control Panel turns off

HI,
The PCB unit ie the control panel circuit board has gone bad. The probable cause of the same is moisture on the board.

Thanks

I don't think my pilot is lite. I need to know How to light the pilot

Hi, open the front panel of the furnace, At the bottom of the furnace you will see a gas valve with a red button, or nob of some kind. Place the nob on pilot, then push in and light the gas coming out of the pilot don't let go of the button for at least 30 seconds because the sensor will not detect flame. If this dose not work you make have a bad gas valve or a bad pilot generator.

My whirlpool dryer model- ygew 9250 pwo will not power up when I control on button. If I push the power on button and the pause button at the same time some times it will start and run and sometimes I may...

When this problem occurs are the small lights on very dim? If so I would turn off the power and remove the top off the dryer. Then re-seat the 4 ribbon cables on the display board. Alot of people replace the front panel or control boards when the problem really is the ribbon cables. If the LED's are not lit dim then you may need to replace one of the two boards.

DIM LIGHTS ON CONTOL PANEL

I had the same problem dim lights nothing happens when buttons pushed. I went through the trouble sheet that was in the drying and it pointed me to a bad control board. After replacing the control board it work. Awsome huh. Not it did the same thing a few hours later. I was able to unplug and replug and it worked for a bit and stopped again well after a few times of that it stopped all together. I was kinda upset after spending 135 bucks on that. I didnt want to put any more money into this machine. I took the machine apart and checked all the connections and wires. Removed the front panel and took all the ribbon cables off and made sure those were good too, (didnt short out) everthing checked out. For grins i replaced the 30 amp circuit breaker. The voltage was there but maybe its not getting the amps. I put the drying togeter enough to see what it dose. I didnt want to risk the chance of messing up the control board i bought while doing this so i used the OLD ONe. ( board was sitting on the dryer tub not bolted down). Well low and behold it works. I have been testing it for about 3 hours now. turning it off and on. change the setings on the dryer and so far it is still working. Before it would have messed up already.
