Open the top and watch it scan. Does the light go out halfway across the glass plate? It is likely to be a bad connection in the ribbon cable that follows the scanning light tube.
You appear to be the only person with this issue, which is very unusual.
You will need to check your page settings. As each program is different, the page setup will generally stay the same. It will also change if you are scanning at 0, 90, 180, or 270 degrees as well.
have scanned records into my computer via hp officejet 6500 scanning software. when i come to print i only get the top half of the document printed on the bottom half of the page - help!!!
Is this a printer or MFP? If it copies and scans then your problem is in the scanner area, either something is on the glass or you have a bad CCD (changes image into bits to write info to drum) let me know if this is a 8100DN or what and I will find more info on the scanning section.
U should select 'Scanners maximum' and try this. I have found this does not work midway, after some scans. So close and exit out of captureperfect, re-enter and try. This should work.
