You HAVE to take it to a GM dealership, as each car has it's own code based on the VIN. Usually costs around $45-60.

I bought this radio from a friend and its asking me for the unock code...do you kno how to unlock it? if so get at me at southsideboy_123@yahoo.com

Tell friend to take it to the store where it was purchased, they have all the codes for equipment sold. If not an aftermarket unit, code is usually in the owners manual or hidden somewhere around the glove box.

2000 mustang convertable amp problems

Are you sure the amplifiers are trashed? Have you checked the fuses? A reputable car audio shop could help for a fee of course, but it may be worth the price. It's odd that (all) the amps would malfuntion simultaniously unless someone unqualified messed with the wiring or the radio has a defective trigger wire (turns the amps on). You'll be sadly disapointed with any new radio without the factory amps, especially with the convertable ... I strongly suggest getting the amps (the factory system) working again.

More or less. I agree that it's stupid. Who would want to steal a factory radio?!?

Radio code

You need the unlock code for your radio (it's a stereo safety feature meant to deter theft). If it isn't in your owner's manual packet, you can get it from the dealership. You'll need your registration and title, as well as photo ID. That will prove the car is yours and you are who you say you are. Your VIN number is on the registration, and the dealer can look up your radio code based on the VIN of the car. They may charge you something for doing it (up to an hour's labor).
