Hi-

- If a cartridge is expended, you see a message on the CX9400Fax display screen. The icon on the screen indicates which color to replace. Press OK.

- If you're replacing a cartridge before it's expended, press the Setup button, select Maintenance, and press OK. Then select Change Ink Cartridge and press OK.

Hope this helps

Put new carridge in will not print alarm light comes on

This should be due to the f**kin electronic ink cartridge chip preinstalled with the printer. The best solution to this problem is to buy a new printer and NOT THE Cartridges, and please CURSE the manufacturer of your printer for making your life sucks by making it complicated the things that should be made SIMPLE and EASY. Printer or Cartridge, more or less, cost you the same. Don't you think the printer cartridges should be made simply refillable/usable unless they are broken, and we should be buying only the ink for the cartridges. It is SO ANNOYING, dude!

Lights on printer flashing -printer will not print

Flashing light signals you that your cartridge ink is empty. Sorry to know you're in trouble with your printer. Here are my suggestions: You have to buy a new genuine cartridge or you can refill ink. Be warned! Refilling ink or using a refilled ink cartridges will not work until the ink cartridge chip or ink monitor is disabled. I've replaced ALL FOUR cartridges and still says "No cartridge"

Well, My thoughts here would be the printhead not reading the cartridges anymore so that tells me right there aslo you can get print head cleaner and dip them into that for 2 hours and let dry and try again or buy new printheads, this proceedure is not simple and can be very fustrating so the choice is yours at this point.

I hope my solution finds a Very Helpful in your ratings today!

Printer produces a poor copy

remove cartridges , take a q-tip w/alcohol and clean out ink ports where they drop ink onto the paprer the ports could be clogged with dry ink , thus preventing the new ink from reaching the paper. after you clean out the ink ports re-install the cartridges, and do alignment proceedures again this time color should be restored

I use the refill ink cart, its still shown empty

reefing a ink cartridge is some time much complicate more than you think. there is a programable chip inside ink cartridge. after refill you have to reset that chip also. to reset the chip you have to build small hardware to communicate with that chip. also simple software to reset the chip. :) send me the printer model number you want to fill and cartridge number. i'll show you the steps you have to follow.

Want to know where u put the photosmart ink in printer

Hello,

Open the print cartridge door. Make sure the print carriage moves to the right. If it does not move to the right, turn the device off, then turn it back on again. IMPORTANT: The device must be turned on to insert cartridges.

You can see the location and proceedure to change the ink cartridges on page 14 of the manual (found here: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00694908.pdf). Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words <grin>.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Hi,

Hope this will give you hints. To pin point directly you need to replace printer head. But before replacing please consider suction cartridge caps or nozzle by cleaning and freeing clogged airways by dettaching manually. I understand that the long time being not used has caused the problem. However if you can still use black and other colors then used it than complicating downtime in repairing procedures. Yes, you are right no need to clean deeper more than three times it will consume inks half empty. Have a nice day.

Besr regards,
