Have a F&P Smart drive 051 Model LW015-F Product 91918 Washing Machine. Pump won't run in machine. Have removed and tested pump ok. Can't see any blockage in hose or manifold where pump connects. Have read advice about socks getting stuck; Do you need to access this area from inside the tub? If so, after removing the central agitator piece, do i need to unscrew the exposed screws?

SOURCE: Washing machine will not drain

The ball is part of the system. They float up when there is water in the washer and as it drains if go's down. It sounds to me you must have a blockage somewhere, if you know the pump is operating in the drain cycle. If your sure there is no blockage and the ump is working I would replace the pump. On electric pumps they may work but if the impeller is worn from something that got into the pump it will spin but not pump the water out. Hope this helps you.

Turn machine OFF on the front panel. Hold down the Water Temp Down button and press the POWER button. Release buttons. You are in Diagnostic mode. With your service sheet ,Diagnostic chart will explain where the error lights pattern and the path to your solution are.My advice is this....there is a known problem with the wire harness connectors, and the contact that is made at the point of connection. One at a time remove each connector starting at your main control board ,some where there is a loose connection.

SOURCE: missing sock in Maytag Atlantis

it's a possibility that the socks have gone under the agitator but unlikely that they have disappeared alltogether. You can remove the agitator to see if they are there. Tha'ts the best I can tell ya Good Luck

SOURCE: TOP LOADING WASHING MACHINE HAS A SOCK STUCK IN

flip up the control panel and pop the cabinet clips. Remove the cabinet and the pump is right in front. All you need is pliers and a screwdriver.

I have a Fisher & Paykel Smart Drive 051 which is old

If your Fisher & Paykel washing machine is making a clunking noise and seems to be washing in the same direction, it may be due to the drive belt. The drive belt helps to rotate the drum of the washing machine and over time, it can become stretched or damaged. To fix this problem, you will need to replace the drive belt.

Fisher and Paykel Smart Drive Pride 5.5 washing machine will not pump water out...makes a beeping noise when trying to pump water out.

I own and have repaired my smart drive washer. The water pump is very simple to remove on these machines. Unplug the machine and drain as much water from it as possible. There's a small plastic locking tab on one side of the pump. Gently pry it away from the body of the pump and twist the housing until it comes free from the metal pump housing anchor plate. Unplug the pump from it's connection and remove it. Found a guide that should help you -

It does not spin anymore. Something blocking the pump? It wants to spin but doesnt seem to be pumping the water out.

Was there an eror code 37 or did it beep continously during this part of the cycle? - then yes its likely a replacement pump is necessary.

Anyway you seem to have kinda figured nout what is wrong with the machine - the problem is there are 2 types of pumps

Early models with the traditional agitator - pull away from wall & tilt backwards so its on about a 70-80 deg against wall - you will see the pump if an older model located on right side - a twist & locking mech to remove with a clip on and a earth wire to a push on terminal to pump frame.

The later model is a smart pump - a bit differrent but i think the above applies to your machine - if I knew the product code I can guide you the the correct procedure.

How to I get to the pump on my Fisher & Paykel Smart Drive 9 Pride 5.5?

If machine has water in it, bucket out as much as you can.

To access pump:
-Pull machine forward and lean it backwards so you can access under machine.
-On the front right hand side, you will see a fan blade- this is the drain pump. This fan blade should spin freely if you turn it by hand.
-To remove pump: remove plug connection that has 2 wires. Remove other plug connection that has 1 wire. On the top of the pump assembly, you will see a white plastic tag, about a 40mm long horizontally across the pump- gently pull tag towards you, and turn complete pump unit anti clockwise- whole pump will drop out (don't force it, it should come out easily) *Note* if there is water in machine still, it will come out when you remove pump assembly- be ready with some towels!!
-Check pump impellor(blade on other end of pump) is free from obstruction, and turns easily. Check with your finger to see if there is any obstruction in the hole where the pump has come out of (inside bowl).
-You can test pump with an ohm meter (should be approx 37ohms from memory)
Reassemble and test for leaks etc
