WE are trying to asjust our honeywell thermostat. It continues to register at 86 and we can't get it to go any lower than that. It's the model that has a small digital window on the left of the thermostat, and two up and down arrows to the right of the window and two square buttons that read hold and select. We have asked our apartmetns to help us and we have been ignored. Can you please help us? It's 105 here in Austin Texas. Thank you!

Honeywell thermostat

Honeywell has made a huge number of thermostats over the years. Directions for each are specific to each model. Your model number will begin with the letters, T, TH, RTH, C, or CT and is on the back of the thermostat.
Once you have the model number, you can obtain the owner & programming information by supplying it on the Honeywell webpage, here.
If you are having trouble, either contact Honeywell directly - or repost here.
Good luck!

I bought a Honeywell RTH8500 thermostat and I can't get the temperature to go down past 75 degrees

You will need the installation book that came with the thermostat. There is a way to enter into the programming of the thermostat from the home screen. From there, you will need to find what code is the temperature settings in the manual, they are usually all 3 digit numbers. Once you find the code for the setting your looking for which is the lowest temp for the thermostat, it will have a 75 to the right of it which you can set a lower number. Sorry I do not have the manual right now to just tell you exactly how, but hope this still helps!

CFS continues to flash on our thermostat (Honeywell energy star). I assumed this meant clean filter soon. I have cleaned the electronic filter but CFS continues to flas. How do I reset this.

CFS stands for "Call for Service". The thermostat will automatically display CFS after 3000 hours of operation. After service, run the unit. If automatically CFS would have disappeared. If not remove batteries and reset it. Helpful?

Installed the Honeywell RTH2300

at the thermostat you have a small tolerance (most have 5% + or -) few degrees is not a problem ex...70F= 21C and 82F=27C this diference is inertial, you can set a lower temperature(ex...60 F to reach 72 F) the problem is if the temperature grow and never stop until the saftey thermostat stop the heating.also is posible to have a broken thermostat(work thermostat) and in this case it must be changed whit new one or the teperature probe is plced in a wrong place.

That problem is seldom the thermostat.check all fuses and breakers....if they're ok,its prolly an internal problem to the furnace.
