Question about Sharp Office Equipment & Supplies

Got a new Gateway desktop computer this week. Didn't want to buy one, but mine got struck by lightening last week, that and my phone (that was a nice quiet blessing for two days)!!! Anyhow, having a terrible time trying to install my Sharp-1655CS onto Vista. It will not allow me to do anything. Made a mistake and called Gateway support, it took 45 min. to get a human and listen to very loud music while on hold. Then they told me to contact you guys to get a download or a CD to install Sharp onto Vista. Man, I did like Windows XP. It was easy to install the copier to. Can you guys help this old lady? Thanks in advance.

Go out to the sharp web site and check for a vista update for your machine, if so download it and install your equipment.

Uninstall the program from your computer. Plug in your printer first replace with new cartridge making sure to remover the film on the cartridge Then plug in patch cord to computer, program should reinstall if need be you may have to have your disk that comes with the printer. Hope this works, Printers are going for very cheap I would suggest buying a new one if this does not work.

Dell 966 not being recognized by computers

It sounds like you were just using the printer as a copier after the damage to the connected computer. If i'm understanding you correctly, you are saying that you have sense then connected it to other computers and with several different cables. Does it power up? If it does it might be worth repairing. Does the computer acknowledge that new hardware was found? If so it just needs a driver. That printer is around $100 bucks. If it powers up and is just the usb port that is out it can be fixed for less than the cost of a new one.

Cannot connect

have your tried removing the driver and reinstalling? sounds like a corruption to me.
been struck by lightening / power surge?
anything funky in the computer's behaviour three days ago, but not related to priner?

Purple printing

I have the same problem. Just spent £50 on a new print head which did sod all. I suggest using an maintenance hammer then buying another printer.
