I turn my monitor on and it lights up then goes blank.

Off ur pc, and remove the vga cable connected to the system unit. On the system unit without the cable, after it runs for sometime. Off it from the power button and fix the vga cable. Then cold boot your pc.

My Acer X193w. My monitor comes on and says cable not connected but when I connect the VGA cable the screen goes black even though it is still on.

VGA is an analog connection, so you should connect it to your monitor BEFORE starting up the PC. Otherwise it won't show anything

Screen loses power frequently. Comes back on by itself

If it does comes back on by itself, make sure that the vga cable is properly connected on the vga port on your computer. Does the led light on the monitor turns from green to amber? if yes, check for connection cables and the power cable.

Please let me know how this goes. Thank you for using FixYa.

When I turn on my Cornea MP503 monitor on it has a message in a blue box saying Power Saving Mode and then goes blank and light flashes orange-green over and over.

Check the VGA/ DVI cable connection from your Monitor to PC, this also could be caused by VGA card on you PC that doesn't work properly, unfirmed connected to its slot etc, check also for unfirmed connected memory card/ RAM.

When you push the power button on the monitor the green light comes on for a few seconds then goes to yellow. Any ideas? It is a Dell e773c connected to a HP Pavillon 700

Hi,

Please check the vga connection cable. It may not connected to the computer. If you have dual monitor support (2 monitor connection on the PC) try other vga port.

Toshiba L355-S7905 does not want to connect to tv via vga port(no other ports available) The pc monitor goes dark after connecting vga cable to it. the TV says ''no signal'' is there anything that needs...

First without connecting the external Monitor/TV Go to display properties and Lower down resolution then when you connect the TV press and hold the Fn key on the left bottom of keyboard between Ctrl and Alt and while holding FN ket down press Change monitor button ( Normally F5)( must be having 2 monitor kind of image printed on any of the function key) once then twice or thrice to shift between different options like display output on one monitor, 2 monitor, extended display etc.

My emachine will turn on and run without doing anything. The monitor states no signal.

Either the VGA cable (cable from your monitor to computer) or VGA port on your computer is faulty. Try connecting another monitor to your computer to determine the problem. If the other monitor works, then your VGA cable is faulty. If the other monitor doesn't work, the VGA port is faulty. Hope that helps.

While connected via VGA cable Viewsonic VG920 Monitor has an error stating "out of Range" . H. Frequency 157 Khz V. Frequency 59.8 Khz

It was pretty tricky without instructions but trial & error brought me to a successful resolution. This machine comes from the factory set to connect directly to a television with supplied RCA cable. Do that before you connect to a VGA monitor. Using the remote control, press setup and then go into "preferences" and look around for "video" and then to "VGA". Once you click "VGA" the TV screen goes frighteningly blank. The next obvious step is to hook it to the VGA cable and VGA monitor. If your computer is also hooked up and on to the monitor there is no karaoke picture. Shut off or disconnect computer and presto, there it is. <br>
