Re: Transfer call directly to voicemail
Since you did not mension the phone system type I am assuming it is a Digital like the KX-TD500. You can transfer direct to voicemail if you have a VT ( Voicemail Transfer ) button on your phone. When you want to transfer the party you are talking to, press VT and dial the extension/mailbox number you wish to transfer the call to and hang up to complete the transfer. If you do not have a VT key you can program one of your flexable buttons as a VT key by pressing your PROGRAM button, dial 9 9, press the button to be programmed, dial 8 and the voicemail extension number, press AUTO DIAL/STORE and then press PROGRAM to exit station programming. Good Luck. ....Mike

hit the transfer button ,dial the extension of the other user and hit transfer again . or hit transfer and dial the voicemail extension and dial the voicemail extension of the other party and hit transfer
I'm not familiar wiht Edge terminology, but the idea is you set the transfer recall time to something less than the call forward to voicemail. It means that any calls to voicemail have to be direct transfers and there may be some auto attendant issues.
More than likely although the button is marked as a transfer its not programmed as a transfer button. To see how its programmed press feature *0 (button inquiry) and press the button marked transfer. To re-program the button press feature *3, press the button marked transfer, and press feature 70. that willchange the program on that button.
Ok, well I can explain most of the programming template, but I cannot give you the exact buttons to push since each phone IS programmed differently.
-> first dial FEATURE 985 this will give you the DN(Extn) for the voicemail (record this number) and then RLS
-> now I need you to dial FEATURE 0 on your set, and press the Intercom key to ensure the extension of your set you want to change and then hit RLS.
To get into programming press FEATURE 2 6 6 3 4 4
-> Password: 2 6 6 3 4 4 Now you will see 3 arrows on your LCD <- Heading Enter-> <- Back Next-> -> you will now see TERMINALS&SETS and press Enter (the top right arrow key) now put in the extn that you want to change.
-> you should now see the extension of the set and the name that is associated with it, press Enter (the top right arrow key) again
-> now you will see LINE ACCESS and press Next (the bottom right arrow) -> then you will see CAPABILITIES and press Enter. now you will see FWD NO ANSWER and press Enter, and put in the DN of the voicemail you saw with the Feature 985 -> hit Next for the number of rings you want to ring at the set before going to voicemail. -> hit next and you can now RLS to back out of programming.
Voila, that set once called will now goto voicemail.
You can get the receptionist to dial FEATURE 9 8 6 and the extension to transfer directly to someone's voicemail.
if you can not transfer a call to voicemail, there isnt a mailbox made. If you transfer a call and it doesnt go to voicemail, then there isnt a mailbox OR it isnt assigned to the voicemail group.
To assign a phone to go to voicemail (if there is a mailbox made) at extension 10 or 11 press feature 00 LEFT intercom Left intercom #310 (auto VMS cover) group 7 enter extension number. If it says 2 not assigned, press "1" so it says assigned. Press feature 00 when done.
If it still does not work, you need to build a mailbox. Will need to know EXACTLY which voicemail it is in that case.
