Now that I know where the square root button is on my TI-30Xa, how do I calculate a "geometric mean" when the equation inclues a time period? For example the problem is setup like this: 6...

You don't want the square root. In this example, you want the sixth root.

Press 4 5 2nd [xth-root] 6 =

The xth-root is the shifted function of the y^x key, located just above the divide key.

I need the EXACT solution for -7 + square root of 61 divided by 2. I have a Ti-30XA calculator and I don't know how to do this.

It is unclear whether your equation is:

a: ((SQRT61) - 7) / 2
or
b: ((SQRT61) / 2) - 7

For a:
Type 61 SQRT.
Subtract 7.
Equals.
Divide by 2.
Equals. (Should be 0.4051248...)

For b:
Type 61 then SQRT.
Then divide by 2.
Equals.
Then subtract 7.
Equals. (Should be -3.094875...)

Good luck.

How to plug in the following equation x-1 divided by x^2-3x+2

ok what you are going to do is simple.. ALWAYS USE PARENTHASIES haha for example this problem is easily fixed by typing this: (x-1) divided by ((x^2)-3x+2) and that should get you your answer. the reason it didnt work was because you were trying to divide x-1 by x^2 then by -3x then by 2 and added all together and you will get an ugly answer, just remember parenthesis! :)

How do i divide by powers of 10 in my TI-30XA calculator?

The same way you would divide by any other number. Just use the EE key (just above the 7) to enter the exponent. If the exponent is negative, use the +<>- key (just to the left of the =) to enter the negative sign.

How to make this operation in my texas instruments TI-30XA 3.55*10(to the 24)

Because this calculator does not allow you to enter formulas, you have to alter the formula a bit.

Instead of entering 3.55*10^24, enter (10^24)*3.55

Note: 10^24 is 10 to the 24.

Here is the procedure:
1) find 10^24. Do this by typing 10, pressing the yx button (which is right above the divide button), and then typing 24. Press the '=' button.

2) multiple the result by 3.55. Press the '=' button.

You now have the answer.
