I have a Kenmore Ultrawash Dishwasher which recently stopped heating the water and the heated dry stopped working. A large spoon had fallen onto the coil at the bottom of the machine, which I suspect caused the problem. Is there a fuse or something that might have tripped?

Nov 16, 2009 - When I hold down the Heated Dry button to turn the control lock on it ...my dishwasher start and why does the "Heated Dry" light keep blinking ...

Here's the key sequence(s) to use, depending on how your keys are labeled:
Heated Dry - Normal - Heated Dry - Normal; or
High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry; or
Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry; or
High Temp Wash, Heated Dry, High Temp Wash, Heated Dry.

This will start the diagnostic cycle. Let the dishwasher run for a few minutes, and then press Cancel to stop the dioagnostic cycle and clear the error. Please note, that this clears the error, but if you haven't found the cause (water-not-heating error), the condition will come right back the next time you run the dishwasher.

Unlock dishwasher if locked by holding heated dry button for about 4-5 seconds next quickly hit the following buttons in successive order heated dry, normal wash heated dry then normal wash this should run diagnosis of the unit. Wait about2 minutes then press the cancel/drain button this should reset it and restore operation be sure to check that water supply is on and the drain is clear or you may get the code again.

run it and open it after the drying cycle right away. what you should be looking for is heat. you will see a metal rod going around the bottom of the dishwasher in a square shape either that has stopped working or the circuit shorted out some where, people don't usually know this but dishwashers use only cold water they use that element to heat the water.

I had the same problem and this fixed it:

- To clear the flashing light you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence...

-high temp wash
-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry

youll need to enter a diagnistic mode, press in this order, hi-temp(sani-rinse)----heated dry--hitemp---heated dry... all lights should light, close door and let cycle for about a min, htne press the cancelbutton, you should be good to go, the buttons on your model may read slighty different names, if this "toggle of buttons" does not work, you can remove thelower access panel and htere willl be a tech sheet/trouble shoooter behind the panel, in there it will explain how to enter diag/test mode

REPLACE TIMER

No dishwasher heats up the wash water, even the commercial ones rely on an external heater. The coil that's in the bottom is for drying the dishes only! There is no reset on the machine. Try resetting the circuit breaker if it's hard wired.

Try pushing the Sani-Rinse and Air Dry buttons back and forth a number of times.
