After i put the dvd in it says loading for a long period of time then a screen comes up and gives me the options of Config, DVDROM and fscommand..i try to go through each one and they get me no where but...

Sounds like the DVD is not video but a ROM disc. VD's can store hundreds of times more data than a CSD Rom and that's why they are used for this purpose. Put it in a computer DVD drive and see what is on it.

I have a Sony PDX-10 and it's giving me two blinking yellow symbols (underlinded triangle and tape with line through it) when I fire it up loaded with a tape. Tried changing with tapes that work fine in...

Hello,
Looking at PDX 10 User Manual Page 232

Your description -

Under lined Triangle

Cassette Ejection needed
Slow Flashing: The Write protect tab exposed

Fast Flashing: Moisture Condensation
Cassette out of tape
Self diagnosis display function activated

Sounds like the diagnosis function maybe your best shot......
Check displayed error codes in viewfinder on Page 231 of the User Manual or let me know if you dont have copy of them.

Tape Symbol Flashing:

Tape near end
No cassette inserted
The write protect tab exposed.

I think this is basically telling you the loading mechanism has a problem, the viewfinder is displaying an error code indicating the nature of the fault..... IF error Code is : E61:........ or E62........ (dots indicate extra numbers) these MUST be referred to Sony Service Centre.

Hope this may help

My alpine clips out at high volume I took the subs out and hooked um up outside of the car and it was working fine. do I just have a short in a ire or is this the pdx 1000 safe mode. How can I get it fixed

Go to rockfordfosgate.com they have a woolfer wiring wizard that can help you make sure your amp is under the correct ohm load, if your woolfers are wiring up on a 1 ohm stable load the amp will overheat and go into protection mode and cut out.. Need the woolfers on a 2 or 4 ohm stable load, and the amp should run fine with a capacitor, and some good 0 to 2 guage cable, plus a good battery and alternator to feed it

PDX 1.1000 amp overheating?

Hello thefatman69e,

The Alpine PDX-1.1000 is a physically small amp to produce the power that it does. The result is that it has less physical area for heat to dissipate. Running at or near it's maximum output into a 2 ohm load, it needs some serious airflow to keep it cooled down. I'd look for some way to get more air to it.

Hope this helps.

My Polaroid DVD player has been used very little. I charged the battery; put a dvd in and it says "Loading" and never starts playing the movie.

Sounds as if the EYE is dirty. Look closely at the spindle (cd mounts on) and try to locate the glass eye. Swab with alcohol gently, I mean gently.

If still bad, then the eye transport mechanism needs to be replaced. Not hard couple of screws and flex cable, look for part number and then go to matelectronics.com good luck, be safe..

Alpine pdx 1.1000 amp

These subs are dual voice coil I'm sure...make sure they are putting a 2 ohm load on the amp total, and also set your gain and frequency setting right. Set the frequency around 85 or 90, make sure the lo pass filter is on. Turn the gain ALL the way down and turn your stereo to the point right before your speakers distort....then slowly increase the gain until the subs are playing at full volume. This should not even be close to all the way up, and the subs should sound accurate and bold. Turning them past this point will cause distortion, in which case you should back off the gain a bit. Distortion causes power to cycle through the amp very rapidly and can cause blown subs and blown fuses. If you do not know how to wire both subs for a combined load of 2 ohms, please let me know what type of subs you have.

Alpine amp and subs questions

it will depend on how you use the 2 alpine subs,, do you know what there individual impedance is [ ohms ] and how you intend on wiring them,,,in series, in parallel, in any case you must maintain the min load in order to load the amplifier properly,,,otherwise the amplifier will operate improperly and allow DC [ direct current ] to pass and fry your subs...so what I really need is more in formation
