Slid the bottom storage compartment completely out. On the bottom of oven door are four (4) screws that hold trim piece that support outer glass panel. Remove screws and carefully remove complete glass and trim assembly. There are two (2) corner trim panels that are also secured by two (2) of the screws being removed. At this point you can clean all glass (both the outer panel that was removed and the inner insulated glass) and all other built up goop. Simply reverse process to reinstall.

This was very helpful, but I want to add that there is an extra strip along the bottom of the glass unit that is screwed onto the bottom of the door/glass unit. Upon putting it back together, an extra set of hands are needed to hold the glass, the extra piece, and the two side pieces. We ended up getting the glass out easy enough and cleaned it well, however, upon putting it all back together, must have put too much pressure on it as broke the glass!! Next time we'll call the dealer. :)

Under the handle are two tabs...one on the right and one on the left. Take a flat-head screwdriver and gently bend those black tabs UP, this will release the front panel. Lift up on the panel to remove it as it is sitting in a shallow groove. Now you can clean the glass on the panel and the glass still on the oven door. When you put the panel back on, make sure it is snuggly in place on the bottom groove, then tilt the upper part of the door in place. With your screwdriver, gently bend the tabs DOWN. To make sure they are holding the panel securely, place screwdriver on tab & use a small hammer to tap on the end on the screwdriver to drive the tabs back in place.

How do I get the dust off the logs on the gw2078?

Ref. link:
http://homemarketdeals.com/how-to-clean-an-electric-fireplace-insert.htmlWARNING: ALWAYS DISCONNECT FROM THE POWER SUPPLY BEFORE CLEANING THE HEATER.

For general cleaning on the unit, simply use a soft clean duster. Never use abrasive cleaners. The glass-viewing screen should be cleaned carefully with a soft cloth. DO NOT use proprietary glass cleaners.
To remove any accumulation of dust or fluff on the fireplace logs, the soft brush attachment of a vacuum cleaner should occasionally be used to clean the outlet grill of the fireplace. To access the electric fireplace logs follow these easy steps:
1. Remove the 4 screws on the front panel.
2. Carefully remove the front glass panel.
3. Unscrew the rosebud log screw.
4. Wipe and clean the log set with a damp cloth or a soft clean duster.
5. Replace the rosebud screw, glass panel and screws and enjoy!

How do I clean the inside glass on my electric fireplace

To remove any dust, simply use a clean, dry cloth to wipe down the interior. Gently dust any media such as logs or glass inside your electric fireplace as well.

Cleaning Steps

1.Disconnect from Power Supply Before beginning to clean your electric fireplace, turn the heater off and allow to cool completely. Always disconnect the electric fireplace from the power supply before cleaning.
2.Check the Electrical Components Check any wires and plugs to make sure that they are not worn or frayed. This is a rare occurrence, but can become a fire hazard if not addressed. If this happens, consult a professional to repair or replace before using your electric fireplace again.
3.Clean the Heater With a clean, dry cloth, wipe down the surface of the heater. Using the soft brush attachment of a vacuum cleaner, gently clean the heater outlets. This will remove any dust or debris from the heater and keep it running at top performance.
4.Clean Both Sides of the Glass Follow the instructions in your owner's manual for removing the front glass panel. Once removed, you can clean both sides of the glass. Do not use abrasive cleaners, as they will scratch the glass. Dust can be easily removed with a clean, dry cloth. Fingerprints or other marks can be removed with a damp cloth; dry the glass with a lint free cloth to prevent water spots from forming.
5.Dust the Interior Dust may accumulate inside your electric fireplace, like any other unit in your home. To remove any dust, simply use a clean, dry cloth to wipe down the interior. Gently dust any media such as logs or glass inside your electric fireplace as well. When you are finished, place the front glass panel back onto your fireplace following the instructions in the owner's manual.
6.Remove the Soot Just kidding! You never have to worry about dirty, grimy soot with your electric fireplace. Instead, just relax and enjoy!

Dirty glass

You can remove and clean the glass by first lifting off the scanner lid. Then pry the control panel bezel off and look for a square hole toward the front of the panel. Insert a screwdriver in this hole and press down then slide the panel toward the front of the printer. It should then lift off and you'll see a ribbon cable connected. Pull it out gently and set the panel aside. There are three T10 torx screws. Two at the rear and one at the right front. Carefully lift the glass assembly up while inserting a flat screwdriver in the left front edge to seperate. Lift the glass assembly off and clean as necessary.

To dismantle the kitchenaid pro line oven door: there is a lever over the hinges that attach a door to the oven. The lever is right on top of the hinge. Pull the lever up. When that lever is in the up position, you can pull the door out.
