Slid the bottom storage compartment completely out. On the bottom of oven door are four (4) screws that hold trim piece that support outer glass panel. Remove screws and carefully remove complete glass and trim assembly. There are two (2) corner trim panels that are also secured by two (2) of the screws being removed. At this point you can clean all glass (both the outer panel that was removed and the inner insulated glass) and all other built up goop. Simply reverse process to reinstall.

This was very helpful, but I want to add that there is an extra strip along the bottom of the glass unit that is screwed onto the bottom of the door/glass unit. Upon putting it back together, an extra set of hands are needed to hold the glass, the extra piece, and the two side pieces. We ended up getting the glass out easy enough and cleaned it well, however, upon putting it all back together, must have put too much pressure on it as broke the glass!! Next time we'll call the dealer. :)

These oven doors are hard to uninstall and reinstall i worked over an hour on mine had to pay for advice. it has latches on each side,,push these toward the door close the door almost all the way then lift up and pull out.the problem i had was reinstalling.,the latch let the hinge spring toward the door and i didn't know how to release it..lay the door on the floor, take a pair of vise grips and pull the hinge down until you can push the latch back against the door to hold the hinge temp insert the door and push the latch toward and close,,,it ain't easy,,,kitchenaid is absolutely no help i have an owners manual,,,this is a new oven and it is worthless...hope this helps you,,it cost me $24 to find the answer

Under the handle are two tabs...one on the right and one on the left. Take a flat-head screwdriver and gently bend those black tabs UP, this will release the front panel. Lift up on the panel to remove it as it is sitting in a shallow groove. Now you can clean the glass on the panel and the glass still on the oven door. When you put the panel back on, make sure it is snuggly in place on the bottom groove, then tilt the upper part of the door in place. With your screwdriver, gently bend the tabs DOWN. To make sure they are holding the panel securely, place screwdriver on tab & use a small hammer to tap on the end on the screwdriver to drive the tabs back in place.

Take the front glass panel off my range to clean between the glass

This should be a double paned insulated glass, you will need to take the door apart to get behind the glass.

Inner door glass replacement

open door fully, look down by hinges where enter unit, pull those metal tabs back that lock the door in place, close door to broil position 3/4 way closed and lift up, which should get the door off the unit.. once removed you would have to get acess inside that door by a combination on removing outer sccrews and hing screws and also seperating those glasses.....be careful to remeber how everything goes back i know of some techs that run into problems reassemblin those doors.. hope this helps,, some local service companies often charge a smaller in shop service call for small items like that if thats avaialable in your area,, hope this helps

Kitchen aid double convection oven - glass needs cleaning!

Had to remove the screws on the BOTTOM of the outside door, then panel came off after all the screws (inside oven door included) were off...
Reversed the order to put back on.. Cleaned (all) three glass pieces nicely... Now after reading the problems with the self cleaning part (doors getting stuck!) - I'm afraid to try mine!
