That's the mechanism in side rebelling..I'd recommend you have a qualified service person handle this one.

Hi
Check through the paper path for any obstructions and manually remove them.
Check the cartridges and make sure nothing's trapped here [stuck papers].
Ensure there's no dry or damaged cartridges
Clear any print queues.
Disconnect the printer from power and from the PC.
Connect again after a while.
Try printing now.

One more try. My C7280 printer makes terrible noises when it pulls the paper through for printing. I have tried reinserting the back part where I clear paper jams, but it does not help. Also this...

Without hearing the noise or having a description other than "horrible", I'd say probably the pickup clutch or the gears that turn it are having an issue and need to be replaced.
To my knowledge you can't order either of these parts (it's not like the good old days) but at least it's replacement is on sale at the moment for $79.99 from HP.COM (probably what you'd have to pay to get yours fixed at a shop).
the D110A is the least expensive photosmart all in one at the moment.
Keep your 7280 as a scanner though if the ADF (auto document feeder) is important to you when scanning, the D110A is flatbed only.

A single sheet of paper has jamed, can not release it.

Clearing a paper jam

If the paper jams in the printer, follow the steps below to clear the jam:

Remove the paper stack from both paper trays.

Press the POWER button. Instead of turning off, the printer will try to eject the jammed sheet.

If the printer cannot eject the paper, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.

NOTE: Do not press the POWER button again before unplugging the power cord.

Open the rear access door at the back of the printer. To do this, press the handle to the right and then pull out the door.

Remove the jammed paper. Make sure no small pieces or obstructions remain.

Reattach the rear access door and plug the power cord back into the printer.

The printer will turn on automatically and be ready for printing again.

Reload the paper in the IN tray.

Try printing again.

Constant yellow blinking light, no paper jam

I found this on the HP support site:

The power light is on, and the resume light is blinking.

c00109831.gifc01272271.gifc00109834.gif The printer might be waiting to complete a print job or to receive data from your computer.

Solution

Wait for the printer to finish the current task. The printer is waiting for the ink to dry on freshly printed paper.

Solution

  1. Remove the paper with fresh ink.
  2. Press the resume button.
The printer might be out of paper.

Solution

  1. Load paper in the paper tray.
  2. Press the resume button.
The printer might have a paper jam.

Solution

Clear the paper jam. If the resume light continues to blink after the paper jam is cleared,

OR

if the print carriage is stuck or making a grinding noise, then follow these steps.

Solution

  1. Lift the top cover of the printer.
  2. Turn the printer off and then on again.
  3. Unplug the power cable from the back of the printer when the grinding noise starts. Unplug the power cable from the wall outlet.
  4. Movethe print carriage toward the middle of the printer (this proceduremight take a couple of tries to get the timing correct).
  5. Remove the print cartridges and close the top cover.
  6. Plug the power cord into the back of the printer. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
  7. Open the top cover, reinstall the print cartridges, and then close the top cover.
The printer may be ready to eject banner paper.

Solution

Press the resume button to eject the banner paper.

Paper jam

Some of the Ink Jets have a cover in the back of the printer that you have to turn a lock to remove and you could have some paper stuck back there.
