You can go to bissell.com to get help. But you can also use a longer screw with a washer to use in the back 2 holes, that will tighten up the top to the base. Or you can order a replacement top. You can check with your local repair shops to see if they can order one for you. Also check with Sew and Vac stores, they also have service and may be able to help you.

Usually this can go one of two ways, very easily, or absolutely a pain. You will need needle nose pliers, and patience. When I am in the shop working on these machines, it's always a matter of not getting frustrated, and using eccessive force.

If there is a coil spring you will want to pull that back gently, and place the arm back into place, always be gentle and patient. Then you may have to use a flat head screw driver to push the arm into final position.. again.. be patient, and gentle... this is all plastic except for the spring of course.

I hope this helps.

Belt side takes the larger one, it just slips in slots and has a screw to hold it. The smaller one, put it in the small space and line it up so the screw hole matches up, insatll the screw.

Make sure that the piston on the bottom of the smart mix valve is in the water only position.(needs be be on the knob and not sitting in the hole). With the top off, it is easier if you have a block of wood or something under the base to hold it up. Other wise it drops down and the screws can't grap the base. Also make sure all hoses aren't being pinched.

Remove the cap for the flow indicator, then there 6 screws to remove to take off the top, before removing the top, turn the smart mix valve to about the half way point so the piston won't fall off. When you are ready to re-install the top cover, just before pushing it all of the way down, turn the smart mix valve to the water only setting, then push it into place, re-install the screws and the flow indicator parts.

Removing the top of the 7901-1 Bissell Proheat

Unscrew the cap for the flow indicator, remove the 6 screws, the top will come off. When you put the top back on, make sure the piston is hooked on the smart mix knob(underneath the top cover) set the smart mix valve in the wtaer only setting, then put the top back on. Turn the smart mix valve to make sure it is turning like it should, then re-install the 6 screws and the flow indicator parts. (don't over tighten the screws)

How do you replace the belt on the pro heat? My belt broke.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. You may check your owner’s manual to see how to replace the belt, but normally the belt is replace under the top cover by removing 2 to 4 screws and the top cover will come off to replace the belt. As far as maintenance it is a good idea to replace a flat belt every 4 to 6 months for the best cleaning and if it is a v belt or geared belt then the belt change would be once a year. If you have other questions feel free to contact you local vacuum dealer in your area. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

You need to order a hood assemble. it comes with the switch. make sure you are careful putting the hood back on. in some cases you may need to get the whole housing. there are 6 screws holding it together. before putting the housing back make sure to put a small block of wood under the bottom between the wheel not on the wheels. this will help to lift the bottom so you can screw back the housing.
