1. Try another USB cord or USB cable.
2. Restrart your computer for a try. 3. Reset or restore your iPod for a try, this way can fix many general iPod problems. If you don't know how to do that, you may refer to this iPod tips http://www.mac-dvd.com/ipod-tips-and-ipod-faq.html 4. Download and install the latest version fo iTunes for a try. 5. You may try this iPod transfer, it's a nice iTunes alternative that can help you upload music and video to iPod, I always use it to sync my iPod when my iTunes can't recognize my iPod, it's easy to use and works pretty well http://www.ipod-transfer-copy.com/ipod-iphone-to-computer-transfer-cucusoft.html If you have any other questions, feel free to email me.
What dya mean by everything. Tell me more about the issue. Ok answer these first: Does the iPod power on? Does it show up in iTunes when it is hooked up to the computer..? Or wait.. Are you even using iTunes??? What kind of computer dya have? Windows XP, Vista, 7? Or dya have a Mac OS 10.4.x, 10.5.x, 10.6.x (Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard respectively) Has your iPod ever been dropped(physical/liquid damage)? Let me know about these thing and I am sure that i can fix your iPod :D
you need to use itunes to communicate with your ipod touch...you can download it from here:www.apple.com/itunes
after this, when ipod is detected, since it shows the screen mentioned above, you will have to restore it using itunes.
YO!! Woah man dont keep plugging and unplugging.. your going to corrupt it! I had this problem in the past.. try reseting your ipod while its not plugged in, Hold the Menu and center button until the apple logo comes up than let them go. Now open Itunes and wait for it to open, than plug the ipod in your computer, make sure the USB Port is working good and everything. make sure its plugged in firmly. If you have done this, than it should work.
You can try connecting it to another computer and see if it works there. If it does then it is Windows or your computer or the USB port or driver. You could also uninstall iTunes and reinstall it and then check if it connects. If it shows up then, you can select to restore it on the info screen, it will reset it back to factory and wipe it clean.
