Question about Vizio P2 42 in. HD-Ready Plasma Television

1 Answer

Vizio Volume Control

My 42" vizio volume is not loud enough at 100%. One month ago we moved it to a new house, and the volume at 20% was sufficient to hear throughout the house. Now, you can't hear it at 100 from across the room...
What can be done to rectify this?

I am sure you did this but recheck your audio menu on all your inputs. I have found that cables can go bad so make sure they are in good shape. Are you haveing the problems with all your inputs dvd, cable (direct cable or a cable box) whatever? It is hard to affect the audio by just moving the set. I am hoping that you changed something or the cables went bad that would be the easy solution.

Good Luck!

I recently purchased an LG 32LG30 HDTV. It seems that the volume is very low. I have it up to almost 100 and it still seems not loud enough. Any advice on how to fix this. Thanks

LCD speakers are not that good generally for panels below 42". at most they put in 2 pcs 10 watts. your lucky if you have 20 watts per piece. if its really that bad try to get a replacement unit.

we have had the same problem and I suggested to Hubby that we had better return it soon. He did some research and we are trying this: use the TV remote and press the center button "Select", Choose Audio, Make sure True Volume is set to On. I've only been watching for an hour but it very well may have solved the problem. Hope it works.

Go into menu, sound set-up, and switch SRS to off. It's a vizio thing they came up with to act like "Smart Sound" where commercials won't be louder. It is total BS and does not work, it makes your normal sound fluctuate. Worked on all 3 of my Vizios. Hope it helps you.

First - connect DVD player preferably to the same input (unless you are using RF connector) and make sure that same issue does happens while you are watching movies. If it does - main board in your TV have to be replaced. If it does not - it still cable signal problem.

this is an indication that the power supply is working. The clicking noise shows that the power supply is booting up. If you still does not have power, it may be the main board that is not working.

With all the listed sets, itis most likely the y-drive(sus) board. The only problem is that this board usually fails when the horz.buffer ic's fail, which is usually part of the plasma display. This was a semi-common problem with this set.The best bet is to find a new set, since the parts alone will exceed the cost of a new one.Pioneer or nec seem to be the most reliable that i have seen.
