The problem is not normally with the discs itself but with the lens coming away from where it needs to be. You just need to readjust the lens that sounds difficult but really it is not too tough. Check out this PS3 Repair blog and get the fix you need.
get a blue ray cleaner from your local store or purchase a repair kit for PS3. You left it on too long and burn the lens out and dust and dirt built up over nite. Or, you can try sending it to Sony to repair it. Or, go to a pawn shop and find another PS3 and swamp the hard drives.
Base from the description of your problem this can be a an issue with the lens of your PS3 since it wont read disc at all, what you can do first here is to use a lens cleaner that you can get from any electronic store and run it to your PS3 to clean the lens that may have some dirt on it. Then after doing that and still same problem the lens will need replacement already. Have it check or replace from a Sony service center.
have it switch off again, replace your dual controller with a good one, insert a game disc check if can read,if not insert a disc cleaner on cd room, after ckeanignfor a couple of minutes have put backs your cd game,if still not reading take to service center have the photo lens to adjust
it Depends on the model but usually this happens because of dust or dirt on the lens so a cleaner may help. although if that doesn't work it means the laser has gone bad, which is a common problem with ps3's. Some newer models of ps3 have dual lasers so if the blu-ray laser fails you wont be able to play blu -ray disc (games, movies) but the other laser will still read dvds (non blu ray) and cds
think your lens may be very dirty. And also please tell if the problem is only with this movie or all the other movies as well? moreover, if your lens is dirty, you'll have to clean it using a lens cleaner, OR get it replaced lens). I got my PlayStation's lens replaced when it was giving me trouble and all was fine after that. Best of luck.
Friend's PS3 had the same problem. His unit is no longer under Sony's
warranty so I've recently fixed his by buying a replacement laser lens
from Ebay. It roughly cost about 50-65 US dollars, depending on whether
you order the lens only or one with a deck; you will need to replace
the old one with the new one. However if your unit is till under Sony's
warranty, i suggest sending it back to them for repairs.
