It is an HP D825xi. I have since found out that it does not have the head on the cartridges and therefore I have ordered another Black head. Hopefully this will sort it out. Thank you.

Specify your printer model, as I believe that all new HP printers do not have a permanent head

Bad print head on my hp officejet j4680 all-in-one

Being six years old it's probably got a fair amount of crud built-up. I generally remove the print head, on printers that have this ability, and then clean with some qtips and 90% isopropyl alcohol. If that doesn't fix it and a replacement print head is available then replace it. But consider the cost, as cheap as printers are these days you don't want to put a lot of money into a six year old printer when you can replace it just as cheaply.

Hi,

Common problem with Kodak print heads. And since you're done with the troubleshooting and is likely very familiar with the printer and its problem, definitely the print head is going bad again.

Thanks

Doesn't print anymore

The reasons can be many, start by removing the printer and reinstalling the software. Now connect the printer and see that the printer is installed again.
Now make a head cleaning fromt he maintenance key and do a test print. If bad then the printing head is bad.
Estimate cost and decide.

Designjet 100 failure of print head

try cleaning the contacts on the back of the head and also the contacts on the printer, it could just be a bad contact between the printer and the head.use a lightly damp cloth and be sure the printer is turned off.

HP Deskjet 712c Printer will not print in black & white

you need to check the head of the printer, im sure is bad, it depends how old is the printer but the head on the printer goes bad if printer has not been used for long time or if you left the old empty cartridge seating inside for a lont time, you can do a head check on the settings of the printer and also do an alignment thank you

Bad colors in print

perfrom a deep head clean 2 times this will clean the printer printer head out. make sure u have heaps of in in your ink tanks as it uses a bit of ink to clean the heads out. then try and do a print. also you may need to do a head alignment on the printer. this head alignment should be done after u replace ink tanks.
the only other item it could be is the print head on the printer.
