hi
did you get any particular error during the installation that said fatal error 1935 or 1709 or some other message if you get any error message please mention the specific error code and try the step mentioned below
insert the cd in to the computer and then go to computers and right click on the cd icon and open it
now you will see a Util folder open it and then open CCC and in CCC you will se some files like uninstall_L2, Uninstall_L3, Uninstall_L4
if you have a HP computer then open uninstall_L3 and continue to clean the printer entries
If you do not have a HP computer then open UNINSTALL_L4
and continue
after cleanup restart the computer
and then go to c drive >>Program files >>HP and delete the digital imaging folder
now install the printer software once again
if you still get a fatal error at 96% then do not click on the ok button of the error screen directly restart the computer and when it restarts go and try to print in will print fine
and still if you have any problem then you can call the HP helpline for free support that is 18004746836 24hrs support

Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off.
I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with
the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the
printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
Try download he right software for your OS from HP.com, typically software issue. Be sure to choose the right language for your full software solution, get fatal error when trying to install software with wrong language support.
To install that printer, connect the data cable (Maybe USB?) to the PC and follow the instructions on the "New Hardware found" wizard, then supply the CD that came with the printer and make the wizard look for the drivers there. When the HP install program pops up (Gray sandglass), choose "Decline" or "Not agree" to the terms of the license and continue with the "New hardware wizard" installation. The printer driver will get installed and none of the HP useless programs.
