You can try by defragmenting all the drives.
following the instructions to do it:
1. right click on my computers and select manage
2. under storage you wil find disk defragmentation.
3. all the drives wil be displayed on the right hand side.
4. right click on each drive at a time and select defragment option.
5. do not use the system while you are defragmenting.

cheers :)

Takes too long for PC in Library/Picture mode to respond

There might be a hidden .exe file that always loads up its memory in the registry and runs everytime you are executing a function in Libraries. Go to the internet and download any antimalwarebyte andinstall it in the safe mode... If you do not know how to go into the safe mode, just switch off your computer and switch it back on, when its loading, keep on pressing F8 as soon as you press the power button on, this will give you a page that has an option of booting into safe mode. When you are in safe mode, install the antimalwarebyte that you downloaded and runa full scan. Afterwards, restart the machine in the normal interface and install Kaspersky Antivirus, update it and run a full scan. That should solve your problem.

Dell dimension 3100 wont load to main screen

You may need to roll back system with System Restore. Under Safe Mode (press F8 during boot and choose Safe Mode). Win 7 - Start > Search type System Restore. XP - Is Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Restore. Now choose a date prior to problem. You may have to try a few dates. Uninstall last program(s) that was installed, again in safe mode.
Try disabling startup programs. Go to Start > Run (search in Win 7) and type MSConfig. In Startup tab, uncheck anything that you don't want Windows to load automatically. It will make Windows boot faster and use less resources while running. This just disables them in startup. Programs will still load, but when only you initiate.

Why the system automatically go to safe mode

If you are using Windows XP then you may have the /safeboot set in the boot.ini file which will force XP to always boot into Safe Mode.
When the system has started, click on Start then Run and type MSCONFIG as the command to run.
Open the Boot.ini page tab and make sure that the /SAFEBOOT option is not selected in the Boot options section of the page.
Save the change and restart Windows and it should start normally.

Everytime I go to internet explorer a message pops up telling me to come to this web site. an after a while the computer just shuts down

pammie819,

Your computer has a small piece of software that someone else has remotely installed, most likely the software installed itself. It's call a virus, malware, etc. To use a computer online surfing the internet or checking email this day and age, you must pay for and keep paying for a good quality security program or your computer will always have issues like this or similar. Follow the steps below. If these steps do not work and if you needed to ask this question to begin with, will need to take your computer to a computer technician for repair.

1) Backup all of your personal files and only your personal files. Do not backup anything else. You are trying to save your personal items from loss and hopefully whatever is on your computer does not reside within your personal items. If you do not have a external hard drive or flash drive, its time to get one. They are sold everywhere.

2) Go to the following link and install the ccleaner software:
http://www.piriform.com/
It works great and its free!

3) Go to the following link and install Malwarebytes software:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/
Also great and free!

4) Go to the following link and install Auslogics software:
http://www.auslogics.com/en/software/disk-defrag/
Again great and free!

5) Go to the following link and download but do not install Comodo Internet Security:
http://www.comodo.com/home/download/download.php?prod=cis
Free and include the anti-virus and firewall in one-

6) Search online and find out how to start your operating system in its non-networking safe mode.
http://www.wikihow.com/Start-Windows-in-Safe-Mode
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/force-windows-to-boot-into-safe-mode-without-using-the-f8-key/
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316434

7) Disconnect your connection to the internet; unplug the wire, turn off the wireless card, etc.

8) Restart your computer in safe mode.

9) Once in safe mode, do not start any programs and do not look around, do the following:

A-Run ccleaner. It has a computer cleaner and a registry cleaner. Run both cleaners repetitively until they stop finding anything to clean.

B-Run Malwarebytes. Do a full system scan. Delete and/or Quarantine anything it finds. Keep running the full system scans repetitively until it no longer finds anything. This could take a while.

C-Run Auslogics. Select all of your drive and click defrag. Keep running the defrag repetitively on all of the drives until it defrag's each drive in less than a few minutes; if after 5 or 6 time it still takes forever, your drives are just messed up; just continue. This also could take a while.

10) Restart you computer in regular mode. Do not start any programs or look around , do the following:

A-Install Comodo Internet Security. During the install process, restart the computer as need by Comodo.

B-Run a full system scan. Delete and/or Quarantine anything it finds. Keep running the full system scans repetitively until it no longer finds anything. This could take a while.

C-After the last scan, restart the computer.

11) Once in back in regular mode again, run each of the four programs you have just installed and run their update feature. Follow what it says to do except for running any scans.

12) Update your operating system. Search online if you do not know how. This is one of the most important steps of this process. Run the update repetitively until it stops finding anything to update; only update what needs to be updated. If you are not Chinese you do not need to update the Chinese language! Restart your system as the update ask as this is important to do so. After the last update cannot find anything to update, restart your computer.

13) Once in back in regular mode again, do not start any programs and do not look around, do the following (Yes, just do it all again. It will take less time this time around):

14) Restart the computer ahhhhhgain.

15) By know you should notice a difference.

Please rate this answer if it helps!

Thanks,
-Chris

Laptop XP PRO will not load up.

Something has physically changed in the laptop. Did you add any new equipment prior to this? If you haven't changed anything you will need a PC tech to look at your laptop. If you have, remove it and put it back the way it was. Then try again using the last know good configuration option.

Lsass.exe error insufficient system resources exist to complete the API. what can i do to fix that. thanks I have the same problem in Windows XP but can not get past the error message. It will not start.

Try to boot to the safe mode, when use the splash screen of your system press f8, you will be able to choose there safe mode or safe mode with networking. Make sure that there is no virus or spyware.
Check in Task Manager and see how much physical memory is being used.
Then check your PF Usage, the problem may be a lack of virtual memory.
Go to System Properties > Advanced and under Performance Options click Settings. Then click on the Advanced tab and click Change under Virutal Memory.
-Click Custom size and set the Initial size to 384MB and Maximum to 768MB.
Then try to reboot and then defrag, reboot again.
