Hi-

Is this a projection TV? chances are there is a problem with the bulb and the contacts, if you can, try to check the bulb for your tv set.

Check is that in music mode or some thing like if you have the option of music mode in tv ....

may be there is some problem in the CRT or the video adapter IC on the circuit board is gone ...

identify that perfectly which is the problem if you are good at opening then just check whether is there any burnt marks in the circuit board (if the board appears good then you need to check the IC[integrated circuits] by using multimeter)

so by this if it there any problem in video adapter IC then replacing that will solve your problem ...

otherwise there will some problem with the CRT only ...

See if the Horizontal out is good. If it is, then for safety measures, change that mosfet. If it does not fire up consider that the flyback is defective including some surrounding components.

Hello

The reason there is no picture is (High certainty) the loss of the high voltage. The high voltage is what produces the energy for the raster lines upon which the video is modulated.

Therefore, the video and deflection circuits may be working just fine but you cannot see because there is no high voltage to the picture projection tubes.

Now, it is possible, also that power to the projection tube filaments has been lost, or that the power supply to the biasing voltages is defective or that the picture tube sockets are corroded, but the overwhelming cause among projection sets is loss of high voltage.

Refurbishing the high voltage will probably cost $250 or from anywhere you go. Even if you do it yourself and buy the parts wholesale you will not save a tremendous amount. So, unless you are very handy and know how to troubleshoot, solder, repair and test, I think you are better off finding a good shop for the repair.

Let me know if you need anything else

Does the unit start atleast?

if the unit does not even start then it must be some problem in your power board itself. i would suggest you to see for some bad components in power board.

No sound from tv

lets verify first to narrow down where the problem came from. check first the on screen sound set up menu if set to off. if ok, tried to hooked up a powered pc speaker at the audio output jack of the tv. turn on the tv as will as the powered pc speaker, if you can get sound there the cause is bad amplifier circuit with in the main board. but if you can not get sound there the cause will be bad sound processor at the board.

Hello, I have the KDS-R60XBR1 60 inch TV. The green light flashes about 40 times and then the red light flashes about 10 times (then nothing). When the green light is flashing, you can hear the TV trying...

First, if you have the manual, open it to troubleshooting, if you don't have it; www.sonystyle.com then click on support, then manuals. you can download it for free. The manual will decipher the flashes for you to narrow down your possibilities. The three main problems in the Sony lineup are the optical block, the bulb, and the fan. The fan is the only real obvious one that can be fixed quickly. When you turn on the TV, the fan should click on ( may vary depending on your main setup from TV menu) However, if you have any compressed air (dust off) etc. The fan is on the rear of the set on the right lower 1/3rd (looking from behind set) Location is in the manual too. If the fan can't turn on, the TV will shut down. Also, go to this site for further help from "Sony"

Hope this helps. If you need further help, post a comment and I will help you further.

55'' philips rear projection turns on no video/audio. 9p5544c102

Try removing the two convergence chips from the board - then see if the TV powers on and lights up. If so you narrowed it down. If not - you have eliminated convergence IC problems.

No picture or sound on Sony TV

If you can update this with the model number, I can verify the problem and the typical solutions. While the 2 blink scenerio is often the same for many models, there are exceptions. Please post the model number.

Losing color

Hello sherylfaith,

I guess you posted twice, here is the same advice I gave you on the other post :)

You might be having problems with the Video IC, actually the section of the IC that controls color. I would first check to see if the color controls are working, I would also suggest checking the color presets and defaults. After trying these controls if the color can not be corrected then troubleshooting of the circuitry is needed for this I would suggest that you have a qualified TV technician look at the set and give you an estimate for repair.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

No picture, but it does have sound. HLN617W

This sounds similar to the same problem I had with my TV. I went out and purchased a new light thinking it was the source of the problem, but I was wrong. It turns out the color wheel and fan went bad and it cost roughly $575.00 for the parts and labor to fix it. My tv was the hlr6167w

I would go for changing the capacitors I have seen many that have the same scenario.95 % of the time it falls back to capacitors being bad on the board. I have also seen alot of boards interchanged in the projection units. Has it ever been in for service? If so was it performed byan authorized mitsubishi repair shop?

See lines in HD cable or DVD source images, also maybe a problem w/ color, see extra blue haze

It sounds like convergence problem to me. There are two ways to correct these concerns; Samsung does sell boards, so if you are handy you can replace the boards yourself. BUT I recommend calling a factory authorized service company. It isn't costly, the cost will run around $400 -$550.
