Hi-

Is this a projection TV? chances are there is a problem with the bulb and the contacts, if you can, try to check the bulb for your tv set.

keep us posted... Thanks for using fixya!

Check is that in music mode or some thing like if you have the option of music mode in tv ....

may be there is some problem in the CRT or the video adapter IC on the circuit board is gone ...

identify that perfectly which is the problem if you are good at opening then just check whether is there any burnt marks in the circuit board (if the board appears good then you need to check the IC[integrated circuits] by using multimeter)

so by this if it there any problem in video adapter IC then replacing that will solve your problem ...

otherwise there will some problem with the CRT only ...

See if the Horizontal out is good. If it is, then for safety measures, change that mosfet. If it does not fire up consider that the flyback is defective including some surrounding components.

Hello

The reason there is no picture is (High certainty) the loss of the high voltage. The high voltage is what produces the energy for the raster lines upon which the video is modulated.

Therefore, the video and deflection circuits may be working just fine but you cannot see because there is no high voltage to the picture projection tubes.

Now, it is possible, also that power to the projection tube filaments has been lost, or that the power supply to the biasing voltages is defective or that the picture tube sockets are corroded, but the overwhelming cause among projection sets is loss of high voltage.

Refurbishing the high voltage will probably cost $250 or from anywhere you go. Even if you do it yourself and buy the parts wholesale you will not save a tremendous amount. So, unless you are very handy and know how to troubleshoot, solder, repair and test, I think you are better off finding a good shop for the repair.

Let me know if you need anything else

Does the unit start atleast?

if the unit does not even start then it must be some problem in your power board itself. i would suggest you to see for some bad components in power board.

When using our Sony Bravia to display pictures from an Asus Revo 70 nettop via HDMI, the picture often goes into reverse video - any idea what might be wrong, please ?

There is no obvious answer. Do you mean it goes 'negative' i.e blacks are white and vice versa?
It could be any number of reasons ranging from faulty graphics adapter in the pc, dodgy hdmi cable, incorrectly set up laptop or a video driver update required etc.
Any chance you could try it with a combination of a different tv set, a different hdmi cable to see if it narrows it down. Try changing the nettop output settings to different resolution. Is the resolution set correctly?
You are going to need to narrow it down. Also open the graphics control panel and check the settings.

Dvd player connected to panasonic viera. picture has blue skin tones and picture isn't centered

I always try the simple things first. check the connection. if hdmi .. then try a differnt cable.
It almost sounds as if one of your connections is plugged in the wrong place.

On component.. red to red, green to green and blue to blue .. then the extra red and white go to the video part .. also may want to check the tv manual - sometimes they share those connections with regular rca connection and easy to plug in wrong place.

Rca connetions - Yellow is video - red and white audio.

S video - one big plug and then red and white audio - make sure the big plug is fully in on both devices - I've seen similar things with s-video plug not fully connected on one end or the other.

Good Luck,
Bill.

I have had this TV for 5 years, it's been great. My wife and daughter just started pushing buttons a week ago and now the color settings are really messed up, just when I think it's correct, the is...

Reduce color level up to zero and check, does tv show black and white picture?
This will confirm white balance settings to narrow down problem section.

My 47 inch AOC Hd Tv turns and and has video but no audio. How do I fix this?

Let verify first to narrow down to where the problem can be. First, check the on screen sound set up menu to make sure the speakers are not set to OFF. If the setting is OK, then attach the powered PC speakers to the Audio Line out RCA jacks to see if you can get the sound there, if you do, then the problem can be in the power amp circuits, if you do not get the sound at RCA jacks, then the problem can be in the sound processor circuit. Please post back what you find.

Xbox 360 has sound but no video

Start with the easy stuff if you haven't already. Check your video cable into your TV and into your xbox. Make sure both connections are tight. There is a slider switch on your video cable make sure its in the proper position. Test the video inputs of your TV with another device if you can. Test the xbox on another tv if possible.

By completing the tests above you can safely narrow it down to either the cable or the xbox itself. Try a different cable from a friend of you can.

If you can narrow it down to the xbox itself it may be the GPU is beginning to overheat but this is purely an educated guess.

Camcorder playback sound problem

Please check your cords for continuity, try using another pair. If that doesnot work, try to hook it up with another sound system, like a receiver besides your TV.
This way you will able to narrow down if your camcorder audio output is defective. Good Luck.

Sound, but no video

The video is switched by a single chip similar to the one that switches the audio signals. It is possible that the chip is defective. Even as a shotgun approach, changing the chip shouldn't be more than $15-$25 for the part.

See lines in HD cable or DVD source images, also maybe a problem w/ color, see extra blue haze

It sounds like convergence problem to me. There are two ways to correct these concerns; Samsung does sell boards, so if you are handy you can replace the boards yourself. BUT I recommend calling a factory authorized service company. It isn't costly, the cost will run around $400 -$550.
