most likely the start device is bad, look at the left wall inside the fridge near the cieling, you should see a model number, call your parts store, give them the model number on the machine, there is other letters after the g and tell them you need a start device.unplug the machine, until you get the part so you don't damage the compressor,it's not cooling anyway and thhe freezer feeds cold air to the fridge side,a fan blows cold air from freezer to fridge so next time if the freezer has a problem the fridge side is gonna have a problem too, unclip the metal clip and slide the start device off, read the instructions and it will tell you how to install the new device
Yes you have a bad relay on your compressor.Remove the rear panel and take off the relay on the compressor shake it.If it sounds fried then you need to order new on .Just give your model# to your local parts depot and ask them to order you a new compressor relay hope i fixya:)

This is NavyCPOwif- As you read above I have a crazy Maytag H20 as well!
I am a research person so looked around a little last night and found a site. for DIY folks. Every one is halving the same problem. I suggest a civil action suit !!! But in the mean time I am going to have my Navy Avionics Technition husband tackle it rather then deal with Maytag right now. " cost almost as much as a military fighter jet, so he should be able to do it!" BUt I wanted to pass this information along to other DIY folks out there. We have not done it yet since ours just went crazy Friday night. So we disconected the door /water connection. But everything else seems to be working fine at this point. Serious about the class action suite!!! these should be recalled we bought ours in GA June 2006 so it seems that the ones made in the 2006 time frame are the ones with the issues- I assuem that the folks that are having problems with in the 7 8 month time frame have the same lot due to ours is 18 months old but we paid $2600 were some have paid $1500.00. So not sure but something needs to be done becouse the list of other issues with this fridge seems pretty long and very expensive.... Good luck!
Site to fix panel issue: for $3 to $20- DIY: I have just fix my maytag M#MFI2568AEB at a cost of $3.00 Believe or not. You need to go to website hhttp://126.96.36.199:8083/liny/maytagice2o.htm Everything you need is on the site. (yes gets Maytag off the hook, but gets your fridge going quicker) DIY site for those interested: http://forums.partselect.com/refrigerator-freezer-repair/maytag-ice2o-digital-board-going-crazy-3189.html

We fixed our ourself with the information I posted above- cost was $5. no problems.... no new panel just 2 circuits.
As I mentioned before my Maytag was doing the same thing, I called Maytag expecting a big fight but they were really nice about it.
This is a recall problem and even if your warrenty is up Maytag will repair it at NO COST to you.
They shiped me the HV board and sent a repairman who had it fixed in about 10 minutes with a newley designed HV board.
Vhotho, Maytag put out a service bullitin regarding this problem. This of course is for the model that is posted. The fix is to install a new right side center hinge and door stop limiting the opening to 135 degrees. They must of redesigned it. I can give you the part numbers. Black and stainless the hinge is 67006443 and the stop is 67006276. For white the hinge is 67006379 and the stop is 67006278. This bullitin came out in Feb of 2006. TDR-0057a-b. Catriver..post back.
