I have an alpine 3DA-W880 system in my car but the cartrdige won't read in the system.

Is it plugged in? Is the power strip turned ON? Is a circuit breaker or fuse tripped or blown? Measure power with a volt meter. Try buying a replacement on eBay or Amazon.

You can fit any stereo in any vehicle as long as the correct volage is used, which is 12 volts

argh!!!
not good. have not worked on this model but a few models with nthe same mech, your best bet is to take this to a repair agent. there is no easy solution
