I know that a Clavinova cannot get out of tune, but - in the lowest two octaves - my mom's CLP-115 sounds as if it is. Might this be a problem with memory, speakers or circuitry? Any idea how we might fix it? Thanks.

Realize that it MAY be stretch tuned like a real piano. A real piano is tuned increasingly sharp above middle C and increasingly flat below middle C. At the ends, the the off tuning is about 20 to 22 cents sharp and flat. The Clavinova should emulate this. In a real piano this makes it sound better and prevents some cross coupling of harmonics. Read up about stretch tuning on the internet. The Clavinova gets its reference from a quartz crytal oscillator and they just dont' get out of tune.

I have a set of 11-48 12string i have never strung a 12string guitar before.can you tell me what string goes in what hole? 48 40 30 26 20 16 14 14 12 11 11 9

the Heaviest string of each string pair is placed at the top (closest to your nose). In fact, if you look at the nut, (the notched thingy that spaces and holds the strings at the right spacing up by the tuning pegs) the notches in nut are wider than the paired string for this reason. That may not be true on all 12 strings but it is on mine. So the typical arrangement is heavy string, matching string. Heavy String, matching string. Except on the bottom 3 pairs where the actual string thickness can be the same. One caution note here....when tuning a 12 string, tune it a whole step lower. So rather than tuning it at EADGBE, tune it at DGCFAD then use a capo on the 2nd fret to bring the tuning up to EADGBE.
The reason for tuning a whole step lower is because on the top 3 pairs of strings you normally tune the thinner string an octave higher to give that 12 string sound. So if you start tuning at EADGBE, those thinner strings for the top EAD strings are going to be pretty tight and they will snap. So much safer to tune a whole step lower and just use a capo!!! Good Luck

Does a Yamaha clavinova clp 760 have a fuse that may need changing

There are a number of fuses on the main power board ( by transformer ) the sizes differ depending on the country of use but are clearly marked on the board.

REMEMBER TO UNPLUG FROM THE MAINS BEFORE OPENING - if in doubt seek the advice of a qualified electrician

Yamaha Clavinova CLP-440

It sounds like you have a part overheating and failing, then cooling off and starting again. i would take it into the nearest Yamaha repair facility or contact your local authorized repair to come take a look before it goes out of warranty.

Our Yamaha clavinova CLP-115 is buzzing, even with

Without power to the unit no sound should be generated. Make sure there are no other connections.

MAYBE you have a wall transformer behind it that is buzzing. MANY wall transformers develop buzz.

Another source is flourescent lights and even some of the low voltage halogens have noisy transformers in the base.

Yamaha clavinova clp 200 - ear phone jack slid

The control panel hinges upwards and you have to move the keybed back a bit to get at the jack. All the screws on the bottom for the keybed. I'm not sure where the ones for the control panel are.

Yamaha Clavinova CLP 260

hi...
Your L/R jacks in the back need to connect to the "line-in" connector on your sound card.
I think the jacks on the Clav are 1/4 inch. Go to Radio shack and ask for an adapter that will take two 1/4 inch plugs/cable and convert it to a 1/8 inch stereo plug.
The Midi connects From (keyboard) To (soundcard)
Cables are available at any music store

Yamaha clavinova won't play C natural in any octave

Hi ...
There are flexible cables that connect the keys to the main electronics. The connectors for those cables sometimes age poorly..
It is fixable. But dont "get taken" on a repair.
If it's just resoldering a few points,it shouldnt be more than $100.00
