This though has its problems that you would loose all your previous settings and the router is set to factory settings

if you have forgotten the password then the only solution to re-enter the Router is to
power down the router press and hold the RESET button on the hind side for roughly 20 seconds and then restart the router.

after reset
leave the Username blank and Password would be "admin" (without the quotes)

If you have changed the password from the default, you must reset the router.
then you can use the default password.
if you have not changed the password, and simply dont remember the default log on is:
username: (keep blank)
password: admin (all lowercase)
