Question about Kenwood KDC-5021 CD Player

1 Answer

Traffic Updates Just bought a car with a KDC 5021 unit in. Unfortunately the only instructions I have are in Italian, Spanish and Portugese! All I need to know is how to switch off traffic updates which interfere with whatever I'm listening to every 10 - 15 minutes. It's really buging me! Thanks

How to reset kenwood kcd 5021 car radio

Waiting means you locked it up by using the wrong code too many times if there is a number after waiting 2= 5 minutes
3=1 hour
4=24 hour
That is how long you have to wait until you can try again.

Switches off for no apparent reason. Can't see an 'on' button. Can only get it going again by loading and unloading a CD,

To switch the unit on you normally have to press the source button, and too turn it off you press and hold the source button

I have a Kenwood KDC-MP235 installed now and bought a cable to run from my MP3 player into the aux input on the front of the unit but I can not get it to play or find an aux input switch anywhere on the...

hey dear, just do this if you wanna set AUX function: turn off your head unit.. when is in standby mode, press the volume knob and hold it pressed until it appears some words... then start moving on to differente options by clicking left-right of the right knob... you will find aux on-off

not sure if standby mode, or completely turned off (to turn it off just click the SRC mode a few seconds)

Hi i have a problem with my customer i already selled him a kenwood car stereo the model num : KDC-W5031 and it appears waiting on the screen and also i dont have the security code

I had a problem as well with my KDC-MP6025 after I changed my car's battery. I called Kenwood four times asking about why my security code wouldn't take, and on the fourth call the tech said some random 2004 models (definately the MP6025, and probably it's sister receivers the KDC-X678 and the MP625) the decks firmware subtracts one from the 3rd digit if the sequence, i.e., if you set it for code 1234, you'd have to enter 1224. Since I sent Kenwood my product registration, it would have been nice for them to tell me this. I would have been BS if I had found out after if I had kept my $60 appointment to get the code cracked at the authorized repair place Kenwood recommended.

NOTE: IF YOU TRIED UNSUCCESSFULLY TO ENTER YOUR CODE YOU MAY BE PROHIBITED FROM ANOTHER ATTEMPT FOR UP TO 24 HOURS. See below--section C

A. Input Security Code:
  1. Enter Standby: Press the [SRC] button. Select the "ALL OFF" display.
  2. Enter Menu Mode: Press the [MENU] button for at least 1 second. When "MENU" is displayed, "Security"/"SECURITY" is displayed.
  3. Enter Security Code mode: Press the [|<<] or [>>|] button for at least 1 second. When "ENTER" is displayed, "CODE" is displayed.
  4. Select the digits to enter: Press Press the [|<<] or [>>|] button.
  5. Select the Security Code numbers: Press the [FM] or [AM] button.
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5, and complete the Security Code.
  7. Confirm the Security Code: Press [>>|] button for at least 3 seconds. When "RE-ENTER" is displayed, "CODE" is displayed.
  8. Do the step 4 through 7 step operation, and reenter the security code. "Approved is displayed and the Security Function activates. However, if you enter a code different from your security code you have to start over from Step 4.
B. After Pressing the Reset button or when removed from power source.
  1. Turn the power ON.
  2. Do the step 4 through 7 operation, and reenter the security code. "APPROVED" is displayed.
C. If an incorrect code is input, "WAITING" is displayed and the input prohibited time shown below is generated. After the input prohibited times lapses, "CODE" is displayed, and input can be done.

1 Time = 0 minutes
2 Times = 5 minutes
3 Times = 1 hour
4 Times = 24 hours
