Question about Washing Machines

LG Intellowasher wm-14220 FD

Hi, I bought one of these two years ago. It regularly collects slime and dirt around the door and seals, such that it deposits this on clothes in the form of patches and streaks. This has got steadily worse, and several expensive items have been ruined. I has got to the stage where the cost of this means that I am considering buying a replacement machine - not with an LG!. I have tried cleaning around the door and seals several times, but the problem reappears very quickly - within three or four days.
Could you please let me know what can be done to provide a long term solution to this - if it involves some form of cleaning, this needs to be in some way that I have not yet tried, eg a special cleaning agent or similar, as I am not prepared to spend much more time on this.

Thanks for any help you can offer, because the LG "support" has been useless.

I had this problem, and it seems to be because the machine doesn't have the chance to dry out, so mould collects in the door. When the washing machine isn't being used, I simply leave the door slightly open - the washing machine dries and the black mould issue just about eliminated.

We have the same problem with our LG washer. Don't think the door can be adjusted but I'm not for sure. I think the gasket is wore out but haven't checked on fixing the problem yet because it barely leaks.

Model wm0642hw front load. it leaks by door frame.rubber seal with clamp.only 2 years old. do i need to change the door frame outer part a151? thanks for your response in advance

Hi, If the door isnt loose or broken? Its more likely to be the rubber door seal if its leaking between the seal and the door glass. Check the edge of the seal where it touches against the glass for damage or ware if its ok clean any soap residue or bits from the glass. If it still leaks change the door seal.

Lg washer leaving black greasy marks on clothes

This is usually to do with fabric softener. Dilute it with more water. The fabric softener makes clots, and these make the marks on your clothing.

Hope it helps

I bought my LG Intellowasher WD-8016C second hand and have no manual. Does it need to be washed occasionally with washing sda. There is a bit of mould around the seal. How do I clean this.

Manual suggests Exterior with household detergent. Do not use methylated spirits, diluents or similar products.
For internal, dry around the washer door and run washer through a complete cycle using just hot water... and repeat if needed.
Not sure about mould.... not in manual.

Water is leaking from the door. Do I need to replace the door gasket?

HI, first, make sure there isn't anything preventing the actual door seal from forming a complete seal around the door frame. this can be caused be a creased section of the seal, or a piece of debris. if the seal is free of the above stated issues, in should be replaced asap.

I would also inspect the door alignment as well. if the door is slightly mis-aligned, this will prevent the seal from making contact with the door frame in a appropriate manner, in return, causing a slight leak during the wash.
