My bio's password has been the same for over 6 years, but now it wont let me access my computer upon start up. I was recieving alot of spam mail through downloading a few toolbars and a games for my laptop. The spam got so bad i thought i should use my Toshiba product recovery disk.I inserted the disk, turned my computer off and turned it back on while holding down the F12 key like instructed. My bio password came up which i entered, then i seleced DVD/CD to run and all of a sudden my computer shut down unexpectedly.I switched my computer back on and my bio password has failed evrytime from then on.I'm pretty confused as to why it has started to do tis,i've used product recovery before and not had any such problems. Like i said my bio password has been the same for 6 years and now it wont let me access my own computer. My laptop is a Toshiba Satallite A210-19T ,windows vista,AMD athlon duelcore processor 2 GB 120GB harddrive.I purchased my laptop from littlewoods catalogue over 6 years ago.

The most common way that most of us know on how to reset or clear the BIOS password is to physically remove the power from the computer by disconnecting the power plug and then removing a battery for 30 minutes from the motherboard. Another way is to reset the clear CMOS jumper on the motherboard itself. Both of the 2 methods mentioned works because most motherboards use a battery to sustain the BIOS/CMOS settings for the motherboards PROM chip. So by cutting off the battery power, the BIOS/CMOS settings will be erased. cmos battery Under the keyboard or bottom of laptop - If you are working on a laptop computer the location of the dipswitch (almost never a jumper) can be under the keyboard or on the bottom of the laptop in a compartment such as the memory compartment. or you might try one of thedse if you can use another computer to access the internet i have used the UBCD4 mself with no problems removing the password

If it's a problem with your BIOS password, your best bet is going to be to get ahold of Toshiba and ask them what they suggest for your laptop model. BIOS passwords are notoriously hard to reset, they're built that way. Hope this helps!

MSN is designed to be accessible from multiple computers across multiple locations, and this is one of the most common forms of spam mail. MSN has full access to all of your information you provided upon setup, including password/etc. Any request for this information can almost always be safely regarded as an attempt to breach your account. This message can almost certainly be safely deleted.
