I would say adjustment or faulty door switches.

You will need to remove microwave to access casing, remove casing and check door micro-switch. The switch activator will need adjusting to enable door interlock to activate.

You can check the rear for a fuse. Also check the wall outlet by plugging something else in. If not, then as you say, it is not worth paying for repair.

It's possible the high-voltage capacitor is bad, but I suspect a bad interlock monitor switch. This is one of several switches operated by the door latches, and it's wired to cause the fuse to blow if you try to operate the oven with the door open. The switch may be stuck, which can happen if the oven door gets slammed. It's also possible the switch is good but is out of adjustment.

Replacement switches are available. The Sears parts website has an exploded diagram showing where it's located (item number 30). You should let a professional make the repair, though. Microwave ovens are dangerous items to work on, and if door repairs aren't done correctly there can be excessive microwave leakage.

Unit does not respond to anything-no power indication. It is 15 months old. any suggestions?

If there is no sign of power at all it may be that the fuse for the internal power supply has blown.

These are normally a special ceramic type and I have seen these simply give up when a microwave oven door is slammed shut a bit too hard. Recently happened to me.

The fuse should be visible as soon as you have removed the main casing. They are a special ceramic type. Normally if you look on the circuit board where they are mounted on you will see the rating for the correct fuse.

Try this first, If it fails again then something is drawing too much power and it should be further investigated by a service engineer.

Neff combination microwave oven

We have had NEFF repair man out again and he replaced the door switchs and this time it is OK.He did say if it was a problem again it will be classed as unrepairable because he thinks it is shorting out on an internal rivet on the bodywork which is inaccesable. fingers crossed it was the door switchs and it dosent blow the main fuse again .thanks for your responce. Simon.

NEED TO REPLACE THE WHITE PLASTIC CATCH ON NEXT TO THE CONTROL PANEL AS IT SNAPPED OFF AS MY SON SLAMMED THE DOOR

By the nature of the oven main face plate and the locking latch being attached to the safety system the replacement cost is usually higher than a replacement microwave oven.

In your case replacing the microwave with another one is more sensible. Your oven is an obscure model as it is, I'd suggest a sharp brand.

It blows the fuse each time open the door if this em-Z2100GS

Probably a bad door switch or door switch mount. It may have gotten damaged or misaligned in shipping.

If you or a friend decide to look into it, we have critical safety information, info on door switch diagnosis and replacement, and
disassembly information at our site, linked here on Fixya: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

Being only 2 months old, I would think you have a warranty, but maybe not. I'd contact the seller to see.

Turntable continues to rotate.

I would say you have a failing door switch or the mount which holds your door switch is loose or broken. In most designs, it is the upper door switch that will produce these very symptoms when it is intermittent or its mount is broken or loose. Opening the door while cooking (without first hitting the STOP pad) is the primary cause of door switch failure. Slamming the door, damage during shipping or transportation and sloppy manufacturing techniques or materials are the primary causes of trouble with the door switch mounts. I have a text file called "doorsw.txt" which helps in diagnosing and repairing door switch problems, and a file called "safety.txt" which is of vital importance. You can find these files via a Yahoo search. In some cases, the problem is a bad connection or a bad relay on the control board. That's something we see from time to time, and we repair those nationwide, but it's usually a door switch. If you still have a problem, please post again. Be safe!
