Question about Cma Dishmachines CMA-180UC Dishwasher

1 Answer

Entire basin is draining all over the floor. Local plumber checked all the hoses and replaced. Comment from other cafe indicated that the unit may have a cracked casing, Phone advice from other "fix it guys" indicate that the issue is not worth repairing. Should get a new washer. Please advise. I cant afford $300 just for a tech to come out and tell us whats wrong, and then $100 per hour to fix it. Vineyard books and gifts. ****** Dam WI

Could an eroded drain cover gasket cause the dishwasher to leak from under the unit? It is not leaking onto the floor or under the sink, but it is leaking down into our basement along the concrete walls,...

I am inclined to not believe that is the issue. The gasket sits in a basin type of housing. If it was to be a failure, the water would flow into the drain hose and not outside the unit. The most common cause of leaks like this are the main gasket that seals the entire assembly to the tub.

Whirlpool Duet washer shuts off when tub fills with water

First, does your unit attempt to clear the water from the drum at all? That is, do you HEAR the drain motor engage and attempt to pull water out of the drum? I had to do a little more than clear the drain filter to fix mine. The drain filter was clear, but my Duet still wouldn't clear the water from the drum. When I pulled off the drain filter cap, I got a trickle (not a GUSH as you normally would) of water, indicating that the problem was further up in the line. However, first confirm there's nothing obstructing the exterior line clear thru to the drain filter. And I have to ask, does ANYTHING drain from the tub-- that is, is NOTHING coming out (in which case it is probably your drain motor), or is it just coming out slowly (indicating an obstruction prior to the motor)? Slowly means you should backtrack from the drain filter to the tub basin. On my unit, there is a black rubber hose that comes off the drain filter and leads to the tub collection basin. This hose attaches with a hose clamp that is easily removed with a set of pliers (in all honesty, in fact, it is considerably more difficult to put it back ON). When you remove it, you'll notice a float at the beginning of the black rubber hose. Clean out around it. Then, (and probably a more likely cause of an obstruction) reach your hand up into the tub basin and feel around. Mine yielded about 5 cups (no kidding) worth of yuck that was causing my drain issue that, when removed, completely solved the problem.

Hansgrohe 88509000 sink drain does not close completely, water slowly drains out

This could be caused by the installation. If the installer did not use plumber's putty between the the flange and basin it will not seal with the basin. Another possible cause is if the basin is not perfectly formed it will cause the flange to oval or not seat evenly. If this is the case it may leak between the flange and the basin or the stopper may not seat all the way down and it may leak between the stopper and flange.

How do I manually drain the water from the basin of my old, heap of a Whirlpool Model LSQ8543JQ0? It's out of here in two weeks, but in the meantime, I have no lid switch left on it, and it's full...

Hello,

to manually drain it simply take the drain hose and hold it toa lower level athe the bottom of the tub(toward the bottom of the washer) and the water will drain right through the drain hose...depending on if ya have a floor drain to drop the drain hose into ya may need to raise and lower the drain hose several times intoa bucket...if ya have a floor drain put the drain hose in it and it will drain completly through that drain in the floor.

How to set the dehumidityfier to drain through a hose than the bucket

As you're facing the rear of the unit, you will see a drain hose connection with a drain cap in place, don near floor level. Using a garden hose, no longer than 5 feet, remove the drain cap and save for future uses. Connect the garden hose section to the drain hose connection. Roll the dehumidifier to within 5 feet of a floor drain and place the hose at the inner edge of the floor drain. Be use the hose is sloped down and without bends or kinks. Plug the dehumidifier in, turn it ON and set the humidity extraction level at 35 - 40%. Monitor the hose to make sure its draining after 15 minutes of operation.

Keep in mind, the drain hose relies entirely on gravity to drain. It will not drain, if the hose is not sloped it's entire length down from the unit.

To assist you further, I have included a link to your Owner's Manual, that you can download and print for future reference. http://www.danby.com/cms/uploads/products/en_manual/DDR586R%20EFOM.pdf

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Water not staying in basin for wash

The drain hose must go above the highest point of water in the tub before entering the drain or it will siphon out. Add pipe to get above the top of the washer or add hose and raise it up.Make sure there is a air break between the hose end and the trap or it will be all for not. Eric

Leaking central a/c unit

All central A/C units have a condensate drain line that comes from just under the evaporator in the Main air supply plenum.

You may have a blockage in that drain line and will have to remove the pipe to clear the obstruction. Try flushing the drain pipe with warm water until it flows easily from the top to the end.

You might have a gravity drain that goes into a floor drain or a french drain along the basement walls. The other typical drain installation is a condensate pump that the water drains into and when the float in the tank is lifted, a small pump turns on and pumps the water (condensate) out of the house either thru a drain hose thru the wall, or into a drain in the basement, etc.

Check the entire drain line and anything connected to it for any possible obstructions and/or blockage.

If you have any other questions once you take a look at your installation, just add a comment and I'll check back within a day to provide more info, based on your input.

I hope you found this very helpful and best regards!

Ice forming in Freezer Basin

Hi. That is the only drain for the evaporator water during the defrost cycle. Take the back aluminum cover off again and pour hot water into the drain. If it won't drain, take a hose and put it over the drain and blow into it. That will remove the sludge in the trap and it will drain good now. I've seen alot of nice hardwood floors damaged with this problem. Good luck, Mack
