Hi

I believe that everything else is fine rather it is the thermostat that is located inside the rear panel to the exhaust duct that is bad and should be replaced. If you want you can test this fuse for continuity and if bad replace it as it cannot be reset. If the fuse is fine then check the dryer belt and idler pulley...Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

My gas drier shuts off before clothes are dried

Also it can be a few other issues:

1: It could be an issue with the lint catcher. Take the lint catcher out, clean off all the see-able lint, then take it to the bathroom and try to run water through it. If the water settles or doesn't run through very well, take an old toothbrush and scrub that clean under water until water passes through easily. This issue caused my dryer to shut off without being dry too
2: Depending on how new your dryer is, it may have a dryness sensor in it. That sensor may not be working well or at all causing the problem as well.
3: Finally your heater could be going out in your dryer and causing it to hot get hot enough in the time you set for the clothes to be dry.

Hope these 3 things help you.

Maytag dryer is taking forever to dry clothes, can even smell bad while running? how do i clean it besides the lint catcher?

Make sure the vent is not clogged. Its in the bottom of back side. Typically vented outside. Also, verify your heater elements are working by running dryer with door open to check for heat

Hi,

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have not taken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then you need to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should take place. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causes for your dryer to fail.

We have a combo dryer and washer. Washer is A2444330KH. Leaves lint on cotton shirts, have cleaned the filter no help. Any ideas? David

Dryer lint not only presents a problem by cluttering up your clothes with white specks, but it can also lead to a dryer fire. While it is impossible to completely eliminate dryer lint, you can take action to drastically reduce lint and the potential problems that come along with excess dryer lint. If your clothes take more than one cycle to dry, you see no lint on the lint screen, the clothes are very hot after drying or you find excess lint on the clothes after drying, you probably have a problem with accumulation of dryer lint in the dryer vent.
Use a dryer vent cleaning brush and clean the dryer vent, or hire a professional to clean the exhaust vent behind your dryer. If your dryer vent is clogged, it will create excess dust in the dryer and on the clothes. The excess lint can eventually catch on fire given the heat load of the dryer.

Taking long time to dry the clothes

Due to a dryer either heats or no heat , I would suggest pulling the dryer out and removing the vent hose . Dry a load of clothes to see if they dry normally . If they do , this verifys that the vent hose is either kinked ( restricting air flow ) , or , if the vent runs UP inside the wall , there is a restriction between the inside vent hose to the outside vent . May have to go into the attic to clean .

Not drying like it used to

The Load will make a differance on how long it takes to dry. I would check your exhast vent for the dryer and make sure its clear. the vent hose from the dryer to the wall should be clear and not crushed. if it is, a 50% crush or blockage will make it take 50% longer to dry. the vent from the wall to out side the home could have a blockage or some of them have those little vents that open when the dryer is on. and sometimes they get stuck, this will cause a longer dry time.
Turn on your dryer and Find that ouside exhaust vent and if you can reach it, make sure its blowing strong. and with heat and nothing blocking it. (( somtimes birs will make a nest in them.))

My Indesit WIDL126 washer/dryer doesn't dry clothes

You have an air flow problem. This usually happens when the exhaust pipe/vent gets clogged. Clean/inspect the vent outlet, the pipe, the inlet, and the filter/lint catcher area.

Improper air flow prevents the moisture from being vented out of the dryer.

Electric Dryer takes too long to dry clothes. Hose/vent is not crimped or locked. How do I clean out the vent built into the wall and ends at my roof top?

Here's a trick I used on my laundromats with vertical exhaust vents on the dryers..
When the dryers began drying too slow, taking too much time, giving out too many refunds...
I resorted to climbing on the roof with a webster duster... it looks like a chimney sweep brush on a telescoping pole.
I turned the dryers on and while they were running, ran the webster duster down the vent pipe.. It cleaned out the duct very well! I got "linted" but it worked!

Remember that the vent run should not be too long. If it gets too long, it will not stay clean and it will take too long to dry as well. if this is a recurring condition, you may want to consider a reroute of the duct.

Also, the exhaust end should be free flowing... no screen. A self-closing flap is okay, but no screen..it will simply clog up the works...
Try the webster... they sell them at the local grocery store... they come with their own extension pole too!

Let me know how it goes!

Dryer taking longer and longer to dry

The only way to clean the dryer out would be with a vacuum cleaner and a flexible hose. Cleaning it may help but your problem more than likely isn't lint build up. The gaskets on these dryers wear out pretty quick and don't seal as well as they should. Usually cleaning will help for a little while but it will not solve the problem.
