Can you suggest which OS you are using?
Does this problem exist for all the CDs/DVDs?
Try to insert bootable CD and try boot from it and check if it works.
You can try blank cd and just write it using NERO and check.
before you change the screen, try to plug the laptop into a monitor or any flat screen tv. are you able to view the image on the tv? if so, your screen is broken.if not, there is something wrong with your laptop and you may want to consider a system restore.
Take the battery out of the laptop & try to turn on the laptop
using power adapter only. If the computer turns on, then the battery is
defective & needs to be replaced. 2. Make sure the power adapter
is not defective. Test the output voltage of the power adapter using a
voltmeter. Compare the voltmeter reading to the nominal value written on
the adapter or the laptop. 3. If you have another processor which is
compatible with your laptop's model, try swapping processors & test
to see if the laptop will work. 4. The power button could be bad. 5. The motherboard could be defective & needs to be replaced
Try to reinstall windows overwriting the previous installation so that all your data, files and programs will not be deleted. If you have your windows installation cd, insert it to the cd/dvd drive and start/restart your laptop. It then detects the installer and scans your computer. Just follow the on-screen instructions. But during setup, do not choose the "Repair Mode" instead choose "New Install". Now when attempting to install, then system will detect your previous windows installation so there highlight (using the arrow keys) choose "Repair Previous Installation". When you do this, all windows system files will be replaced but all programs and personal files will be in tact.
OOPS.... OK.... it may be serious but it may also be easily solved. If what i tell you now doesnt work then the laptop is KAPUT. Remove the battery... then remove the hard drive and the memory chips. You should find all these under latches at the bottom of the laptop .... the hard drive sometimes pulls out from the side somewhere.
ALSO TRY ANOTHER POWER SUPPLY because youyrs may be faulty. TRY ANOTHER POWER SUPPLY FIRST OF ALL !!
Once you've done that you must put it all FIRMLY BACK... If that DOESNT work you may have a DEAD computer.
