Question about ASUS Eee 4G Notebook
Hi and welcome to FixYa.
You may have to hold down the power button for more than the usual time. Press and hold it down for a few moments.
If this isn't working for you, take your battery out of the back of the computer,
Remove the power cord from computer also.
Press and hold the power button down for a full minute.
Replace battery back into your computer and plug back in your power cord. (in that order)
Restart your computer and let it load everything.
See if it lets you power up and down normally again.

Chances are, there's a program running in the background that won't let it shut down. Try closing all your programs and shutting it down. If that doesn't work, you can hold the power button down until it shuts down, or possibly remove the battery. If this problem continues occuring, try running a virus sweep and seeing if it catches anything on your system. For a good free online virus sweep, use:
