I recently acquired an HP 1300n Laserjet Printer for gratis, installed with drivers and HP Toolbox. My issue is print quality, very dark grey background down the middle 70% Have adjusted all the settings...

one possible cause would be the nozzle of your cartridge maybe their is already a clog that blocks the continuous flow of your ink, try to clean the head by using the maintenance software. Go to control panel>printers>properties>printing preference>locate the maintenance then try to access the cleaning of your cartridge, I'm not sure which location of the cleaning of head better to check all the menus. Hope it helps thanks.

I have a iriscanner anywhere 2. When I scann a white piece of paper on my scanner the backround does not come out white. Then when I print it the printer prints the backround and uses a lot of ink. How do...

Almost every scanner can be set for color, greyscale, and black and white. For text only scanning, use black and white and ink will only be used for the text.

Can I print in just black and white?

yes - in control panel - printer - properties set default as grey or grey scale or Add Printer and set the 'new' printer up as grey scale and call it 'printer B&W' so you can choose either a colour printer or a B&W printer.

HP 2600n grey background

Most Original cartridges are starter cartridges that hold only 1/3-3/4 ink. Drum maybe defective, and this usually causes the grey or black in your printing. Cartridges may need replacement along with the drum. Hopefully this helps

Kyocera FS-C5015N colour laser printer. -printing grey backgound

it seems very important to shake the toner before using your printer.
it is not too late
remove all toners and shake them well
you will find after a short time that the grey background goes away

No black ink printing

This is a guess but from what I have read I would say bad printhead, Kodak and a batch made in usa plant that got too hot in processing thus are faulty. Contact Kodak and go thru a few test with them and they will ship you out a new printhead, new ink tanks by overnight air and FREE of charge.

Printing Problem

Hello hougher,

You need to clean the printhead of the printer to solve that issue. Because everytime you print, excessive inks are going to the printhead that's the reason why it's clogging the system up. That's because Kodak printers is using "pigments" as inks that's why Kodak printers are producing high quality prints unlike other printers - a photo printed from kodak could actually last for about 100 years. Now back to your issue, you need to clean the printhead from the printer but not manually. You could clean it by going to the software of the printer namely the KODAK HOME CENTER SOFTWARE. You need to click the "?" mark icon on the upper right corner of the software window then under the General Links select Maintenance then choose Clean Printhead. Do it at least twice and then try making prints. If that still doesn't work try calling Kodak Technical Support Representative: 1-800-421-6699

I hope I have been some of help.

Cyan Not working

Use the printers maintanance software to clean the cartridges ( start--settings--printer & faxes, right click your printer icon, choose properties, go to maintanance, click clean in cartidges. Max cleaning attemps is 3 times.
If that does not work, you need to clean the head manually.
Note that this procedure may destroy totaly the head.
Take a small tray and put some water inside (fill the tray to 3mm deep) Add few drops of white spiris in (2-3% max). Put the head inside (the solution must just cover the print nozzles on the head. Leave it there for few hours, then take it out, allow to dry, put it back in the printer, put the inks in, make one cleaning and try again.
If does not work.......you need a new head.
