I'm trying to reload my edited videos onto a new computer - but they're no longer opening. instead it says the original files don't exist and asks if i want to relink. we saved all our videos onto our external hard drive. we could use them fine on the old computer. Bought a new computer, loaded the editiing software on, connected up external hard drive - and now it doesn't work

It sounds like the problem is with the linking between the video editing software, and what you used to make the video originally. When you import things like pictures and videos into the software, it just takes the path to the videos (such as C:\\Program Files) When you move the software to another computer, that path is changed and the videos(original files) are no longer where the editor thinks they are. If you still have your old computer, get on it, and either export or publish the video as a video file (such as .mp4 or .wmv) These aren't linked to the original files, and should transfer easily. Hope this helps!

Magix Movie Edit Pro Premium 2015 cannot find or recognize many of my saved MVP Project files. All previous saved project files still show in MEP 2015 folder. How do I get MEP 2015 to open them?

Magix software can be fickle at times. All I can suggest is that you are very careful with files and directories associated with the working files of the software. One tiny change will produce a file not found response. You can sometimes manually take it the missing file, but it's messy.
I suggest that any outputted files are not directly changed, but left where they are. If you want to do with something afterwards create a new folder and copy the files you want into that folder. Then change those files.
If you look at the original files that you worked on, you will see around four files near it. Deleting any of these files will produce that response. If you alter any of the original files you worked, you will get the same response. Because the Magix files around it will no longer match with the file you altered.

Proper or Best way to use my newly installed WD SATA external Hard Drive;

The files are placed on the drive by you. Unless someone setup a special application files will not automatically migrate to another drive. You would not generally want them to because they would never be where you left them and be much harder to find. Primarily you will want to be moving data files and not application files (unless you uninstall from the internal drive and reinstall to the external drive) You can open my computer and find both drives -- you can drag/drop folders (containing only data, mp3s, videos, etc) between drives. I always like to check these moves by doing a right mouse click selecting properties on each folder separately to assure that an equal number of folders and files were copied before deleting them off of the smaller drive.

I emphasize again moving programs in this fashion will cause them to break. If you have large and seldom used applications you can uninstall them then using the installation process and media provided by the manufacturer then reinstall them choosing the external drive as the destination..

I hope this helps.

This looks like you are using a Microsoft Windows Server computer or operating system. The "SAM" file is your password registry file for all the users within your domain controller (also why it asks you for your Active Directory users file). If you are expecting this to be something on your Mac, you may want to double check what you are trying to do. You might be installing Windows Server over your Mac operating system, or you may be installing a Server edition (instead of a personal edition) into a virtual machine.

Transfer taken photos from camera to computer ?

The easiest way to transfer the pictures onto your computer is to remove the memory card and plug it into a card reader (either built in or a USB card reader if you have one). If not, you can connect your camera to your computer by the USB cable.

Once you plug the camera or the card in, Windows will usually ask you if you want to import the images. You can do that or import them manually by opening up the SD card or camera in my computer and dragging the files to the folder you want to store them in.

Unfortunately the manufacturer's site no longer exists so I can't give you a direct link to the original software.

Please leave feedback if this was helpful. Thanks.

I am trying to download a video I shot from my new camera. I can play it fine within the camera, but get an error when I try and download it using the software from camera. Erro# 80004005. I've even...

If you have the appropriate memory card reader for your computer, try removing the card from the camera and inserting it in the computer. If not you can try connecting the camera by USB.
Once the card / camera is plugged in, Windows should recognize it in a few seconds. It may ask you to import pictures and /or videos (you can if you want).
Then go to my computer and select the drive for the card or camera. They are often named something obvious like the brand of the memory card or camera. Once you open it, you'll have to locate the files you want. Generally there's a few folders in the drive. Pictures are usually in one called DCIM, but the name can vary by model. Videos are sometimes in there or sometimes in other folders. You may need to look around on the card for a bit to find them.
Once you find the pictures, open another my computer window and navigate to the folder where you want the videos. Drag the video files from the card or camera to this folder.
That should get the videos on your computer. If this doesn't work, please let me know where you're running into difficulty, any errors you get and your version of Windows.
Please leave feedback if this was helpful. Thanks.

When i try to transffer data to the sandisk sd 2gb card im getting 0x8007045d error help please

it is because your card is formated as FAT ( this means that you can only store small files on it ). To fix this do the following 1. open my computer 2. right click on th sd card 3. press format 4. in format select fat32 instead of fat 5. click format (you will lose all data currently on the card) 6. when it is finished you should be able to copy files onto it

How do you relink a file to corel videostudio?

Using a USB key is the worst thing you can do when you are video editing.
When you are editing video it is best to have the video clips on your main hard drive for the best Play back and rendering performance.
Video editing software doesn't actually change the original files, it just remembers what parts of the videos you want to use and then saves that memory in a project file, it does not save the video files. when you render the video it will make a new video file.
If you make any changes to the project files (Pictures and videos) in the project (e.g. name change, location, re-save) the video editing software will no longer be able to link the files back to the project and will then prompt you to re-link the files.
Also the performance of video editing software relies a lot on the data transfer speed. when you are using a USB drive you are cutting the performance down BIG time.
When you are using VideoStudio save all the files you are editing to the hard drive in one folder. when you are done and you want to transfer the project off, select File | Smart Package. What this will do is gather all of the project files and allow you to save to a USB drive and you can transfer the project to any other computer and open the project using VideoStudio without the relinking issue.

When opening uploaded video AVI file all I get is sound, no pic

That sounds like you don't have the proper codec to play AVI files. Even if you haven't had problems with AVI's before these files may be DIVX avi's instead of the usual Xvid. Download the full codec pack here: http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm and install it. Restart your computer and try again and you shouldn't have any problems.
Please rate, thanks!
