the formula for volume of a cylinder is Volume = pi Ă— r2 Ă— h

but if you arent math savvy, first you convert your units so they are the same. all you have to do is change 16 inches into 1.3 feet and divide your diameter (10.82 feet) by 2 to give you the radius (5.41 feet)

plug in those values here:

https://www.bing.com/search?FORM=U312DF&PC=U312&q=volume+of+a+cylinder

and you will get 119.5 cubic feet

then convert cubic feet to cubic yards here:

http://www.metric-conversions.org/volume/cubic-feet-to-cubic-yards.htm

and the answer to your question is 4.425 cubic yards

I am not sure there is a question expressed here. If you have a formula you want to use to calculate some quantity in it, state the formula, provide the known values and we will show you how to enter it. As to what it serves for, I for one do not need to know.

Percentages are calculated by using the following equation:

amount/total = percentage

Where percentage is in decimal format.

What do you want to do?

Calculate the amount if you know the total and percentage
For example, if you purchase a computer for $800 and there is an 8.9% sales
tax, how much do you have to pay for the sales tax? In this example, you want to
find 8.9% of 800.

Example
The example may be easier to understand if you copy it to a blank
worksheet.

- Create a blank workbook or worksheet.
- Select the example in the Help topic.
**Note**Do not select the row or column headers.

Selecting an example from Help - Press CTRL+C.
- In the worksheet, select cell A1, and press CTRL+V.
- To switch between viewing the results and viewing the formulas that return
the results, press CTRL+` (grave accent), or on the
**Formulas**tab, in the**Formula Auditing**group, click the**Show Formulas**button.

Calculate the percentage if you know the total and amount For example, if you score 42 points correctly out of 50, what is the percentage of correct answers?

ra4942 ,

Yes, you would have to convert the fractions into decimal notation, represented as feet.

Example: 5' 3 1/2" is 5.29167'

By the way, the formula (that you know) is "plus", not "times" ....

a^2**plus** b^2 = c^2 (the square of the hypotenuse is the **SUM** of the squares of the two other sides)

Thanks for using FixYa!

If the result is already calculated and displayed, press the [S<=>D] key It will convert a fraction or radical to decimal. This is always possible. If the result is decimal it may be converted to a fraction or a radical (Not always possible).

If the expression to be evaluated is still in the command line and you have not pressed the [=] key, you can force the result to be displayed in decimal format by pressing [SHIFT][=] instead of just [=].

More permanently. If you do n o care for fractions and radicals, set the Input/Outpout mode to LineIO. To do do press [SHIFT][MODE] to access the (SETUP) screen and select [2:LineIO]
