Hi,

A couple of things that you can try:

  • hard reset unplug from the mains for a couple of hours;
  • do a soft reset;
  1. Press MENU, the Menu screen appears.
  2. With select the Tuning menu, confirm with ENTER.
  3. With select [Shipping condition] and confirm with ENTER.
  4. Press ENTER to confirm.
  • open the top cover and manually extract the disc. Since the cover is out, you could likewise check for belt problems, gummed up lubrication and worn gears. You could use a can of compressed air to blow the dust and apply appropriate lubricant on the moving parts especially the slider bar.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Try disconnecting the payer for few hours fro wall power and see if the disk ejects out

if the disconnection does not help then you will have to open the player and roll out the tray outside

Hi-

Turn unit off first, unplug it for couple of minutes and replug it. then plug it back and try ejecting cd using the control panel on the unit or remote, check for obstruction on the cd slot, if product is still within warranty, dont open it up call manufacturer, if its not within warranty, you can open it up so that you can check on the gears and belts, might need replacement.

Keep us posted, thanks for using fixya

You mean the disc is stuck inside the player? if that is the case try first turning off the player then turn it bck on and see if you can take teh disc out.
If not you may need to open the player to take the disc out because this can be a mechanical problem or the disc is broken or something..

Hope that helps.........

Panasonic Portable dvd/cd player model #DVD-LS90 The player turns on and tries to read the DVD. However, it no longer spins so the DVD cannot be read.

Hi,

Two possibilities:
  • the laser eye (lens) is dirty, weak or defective. The unit no longer can sense that a disc is present and therefore will not initiate servo motor engagement. Pls try cleaning;
  • the spindle motor is weak or defective. This might be of additional information.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

I can't find my remote and I want my cd's to play over and over. I don't care about the order. I just don't want to have to get up and push play after each cd is finished playing. What can...

Not much you can do without a remote for this model except play 1 disc (CD or DVD) manually at a time. You could try to obtain a replacement of the original remote directly from Panasonic, or you can look again for your lost one in your home, or you can try a (cheaper) universal remote with this unit. The cost depends on what type of remote you get and where you buy it from (if you order through Panasonic there may be an additional shipping charge). Sequential play (one disc after the other automatically) usually can only be set using the remote.

The fact is, this player needs a remote for full functionality If you want random/sequential play for multi discs, the original Panasonic remote is required - try ordering this first if it is available. If not, then consider a universal. (you could also look on eBay for a similar DVD player remote for this model)

My panasonic dvd player shows locked when I tried to eject. I can't eject tehDVD. My kids could have jinxed it. Model panasonic sc-pt550 TQ

There are two lock conditions for this device.

If you can't eject the disc:

Enabling removal of disc

1. Select the DVD/CD function.

2. At POWER ON condition, press and hold down the stop button and the power button on the player for at least three seconds.

(The message, "___LOCKED_" appears when the function is activated.)

If you can't operate the functions:

Enabling operation of selector and disc

1. Select the DVD/CD function.

2. At POWER ON condition, press and hold down the play button and the power button on the player for at least three seconds.
(The message, "___LOCKED_" appears when the function is activated.)

Hope this helps!

When trying to play a computer generated DVD +R DL, I get a message that says this type of disc cannont be played. please insert a different disc

The disc is probably an incompatible format for this model player. Even if the disc is finalised in your PC, or in a DVD recorder, this player may still be unable to read it. Some DVD recorder/players do not recognise DVD+R (or +R DL) media, while others won't recognise +/-RW discs (except CD-RW); this is a model limitation - not a fault with either your player, the PC burning software or the discs themselves.

Nothing can be done to fix this except purchasing a model which accepts multimedia (+R/DVD-RAM etc). The question is, does your player play ANY normal DVDs? I am guessing your player will accept DVD-R DL discs just fine since this is standard as well as proper shop-bought movies.
