Once you have installed the jumper, you will need to kill power to the furnace for about a minute to reset the board. Make sure the the jumper is making good contact. Sometimes they appear to be plugged in but still are not making contact.

SOURCE: Going to replace hvac system. Don't know what

Hello,
According to the model number it is a 2 ton or 24,000 BTU unit. It is very important that you change the indoor coil as well as the outdoor section, due to it being a 10 SEER unit, and the new basic systems are 13 SEER, the old coil cannot handle the higher SEER ratings.
Rheem and Ruud are the same equipment, just 1 number different on the model number.
I hope this has helped, please rate the new guy :)
Please contact me if I can be of any further help to you.
Have a great day!
Sincerely,
Paul Gibson

I have an Infiniti G 35 2003 and I cannot adjust the temperature settings or airflow nor does the audio equipment work

Common issue with the 2003 Model G35. The culprit is the radio/HVAC circuit board. Unfortunately, since the OEM radio and HVAC system is integrated, it means replacing the entire circuit board which can be pricey. Google "Infiniti ITB03-007" for more information.

Do i need to power down to change the back up battery

If this is ordinary residential timer, you can replace battery without changing anything.
Just replace battery.
Most timers will hold some or part of the memory during battery changeover... frequently losing no programming if battery change is done quickly, and battery was not completely depleted, and timer is still functional.
If timer function is not restored after battery change, reset timer fully and then reprogram.
If battery change and reset does not work, then timer is probably gone bad.
Most modern timers have reset button, but some require a 2-button sequence to reset.
Other modern timers have a 'battery' but the battery is built into the circuit board and thus not replaceable ... it is rechargeable, like a capacitor ... but when it fails .. the timer needs to be replaced.
Timers with replaceable batteries are generally not functional after exposure to freezing temperatures for several day, but the non-replaceable type generally have wider tolerance for temperature variation.

My model GLET1041AS2 Frigidaire Laundry Center fills/agitates, but does not pump or spin. The timer would make a slight buzzing/timer sound when it hits the spin cycle, but nothing else.

The circuit board has a Cycle generator and sequencer that accepts commands when you manually do a setting. When the sequence enters the spin phase a block occurs and discontinues further action. It is not the timer, but the command center on the circuit board. Because the board has many functions, it is like a set of Christmas Tree lights in series, and when one bulb fails, so goes the set. You will no doubt need a new command board for that model.

l is no longer available, the only thing you can do is re-wire the control section to use a simple thermostat and timer to control the condenser and leave the old controls for a thermometer only.

1-channel FMD Intermatic timer
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/GM40AVE-digital-timer-programming.pdf

FMD timers are complex to program, and if timer does not program correctly, then check voltage and polarity of circuit. These timers typically have 1 year limited warranty and can be affected by power surge.
If you have 2-channel timer, then each contact on relay will turn on-and-off at different schedules.
Make sure you don't wire both legs of a 240Volt circuit to to different relays, or the circuit will not turn on-off as expected. To control 240V, just turn off one leg using one of the relays.

If your exact timer does not show, add a comment and describe everything about the timer buttons and appearance, and I will search my files for possible manual.
Grasslin timers were made by GE for many years, and now Intermatic owns the product line.

I have a LX80 Commercial pool and Spa Control System made by Pentair. I notice this morning that the jet spa motor was running all the time. Which is not right because the control panel is set for 15 min....

If you are positive that the two hot lines onto the motor relay are in the correct postition, then it is the control wires not giving power to the relay to close the circuit. Make sure the signal wires are connected to the contrl board. then, check to see if the timer is still working. its always possible that the control board has failed under the surge conditions. If signal wiring is in place and relay still wont close the circuit, disconnect the relay signal wires, set the timer to come on, and after it tries to activate that relay, measure for 24 volts at the relay signal wire terminals. If no voltage is found, bad timer, or bad board.

Need to know the value of a resistor

Tim, I am a commercial hvac, refrigeration, and commercial kitchen equipment mechanic. I have rebuilt many of those units. While the notion that all it might be is a 20 cent resister is noble, you are forgetting that this particular circuit has been in service in airborn oil, dust, moisture, spices AND MORE THAT attack ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC/COMPUTERIZED equipment.

After many years of repairing vrs replacing, the failure rate was so high in other components and circuits that I realized it just wasn't worth it. Its NOT JUST THE COST OF SERVICE AND PARTS, but also THE DOWNTIME AND LOST SALES you need to take into consideration as well.

Take it from a professional, REPLACE THE BOARD!!!
