Question about Lexmark X4690 Wireless InkJet Printer

My lexmark x4690 printer will not print. It lines up documents in queue but doens't print them. It worked fine and for no known reason stopped. It photocopies fine. I have unplugged everything and restarted and it will print the last page in line. I have changed the cartridges and also uninstalled and reinstalled the printer software. All of my programs are up to date and I can't see any firewall warnings that would be preventing printing. Any advice??

If you are using Windows pc, make sure the print spooler service is running. Please refer to this article in the Lexmark website on How to Restart or Reset the Print Spooler in Windows. Try to print again.

My Lexmark s605's print queue won't clear, and so the printer has stopped working altogether


Please follow the steps below to clear the print queue and restart the print spooler of your computer.

1. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET STOP SPOOLER (this will stop the print spooler service)

2. Browse to your windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\ folder. You should see files there ending in .SPL and .SHD created around the time you tried to print - delete these files.

3. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET START SPOOLER (this will restart the print spooler service)

You may need to uninstall the existing X4690 driver first before installing it's driver for Windows 7. Follow the instructions in this artricle on How to Uninstall Lexmark Printers. Once driver is uninstalled, reboot pc when prompted. Reinstall using the driver for Windows 7 from the Lexmark website at:

Lexmark printer stopped printing after I had stopped printing before all pages were printed. What's the problem?


You may have to delete the files in the print que. It should show that there's still files waiting to print in the lexmark program.

My printer will not work even though i installed the disk,


What type of error are you getting? Are the documents building up in the print queue, going to the queue and then disappearing, a printer off-line (or not ready) error or something else?

The usual things to try: a new data cable, a different port, check that a known working device will work in the port. If using a USB hub, try connecting directly to the computer. Make sure that the ports aren't disabled for security or power-savings (control panel - device manager and power savings areas).

Printer wont print. help!!

I believe evrytime you tried to print, they all lined up in a queue for printing. If that is the case, you have to delete everything in the queue
Right click on the printer folder, look under documents, and see there are documents listed. If there are few, delete all of them. In some cases, you may have to print one at a time.

After doing all that, try to print a document. For test purposes type a one line document and try to print it.

Lexmark z31 printer will not stop printing


Disconnect printer cable from PC. Power off printer and unplug power cord from outlet. Wait 15 seconds. Press the power button as if to turn on with unit still unplugged. Plug back into outlet and turn on printer.

Before reconnecting to PC, check the printer's queue status. Start, Control Panel, Printers. Select the printer by double clicking to open queue status. Select any remaining documents and choose cancel from document menu bar.

The circuit of your cartridge is turned very weak.when the circuit turns weak the cartridge cannot help processing the print request.
To solve the issue you will have to insert another cartridge. Also try cleaning this cartridge and check if it works temporarily keep us updated.thanks for using fixya
