Question about Intuit Quicken Deluxe 99 for Windows (quicken99)

1 Answer

I transferred all of my files from my old computer running XP to a new computer running Windows 7. Quicken Deluxe 99 transferred but won't open. It says the program can't start because IPROF32.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling. I don't think I still have the original Quicken CD. Anything I can do?

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

You could search the WWW for that file ... I think your best course of action is to get a good back up - both on a hard drive and on a cd or dvd of your quicken file. Save your file under a second name also (see below). Get 2010 version, which they started advertising to Quicken users about 2 weeks ago for $78.00. Load the software then tell Quicken to load your file.

BE ADVISED - the copy of your file on your hard drive will be over written when it converts to the new Quicken. That is the reason you save as another name. The new copy will not run on your Quicken 99 - however, you still have 99, right? and you have the copy under another name to run on that, right?

So you should be in good shape either way.

I think your real 15 year record is that you used it for so long!

Tell me, did I just answer another Quicken question for you here?

Thanks

It should do as you describe. I have read about multiple users but have not used this feature. I have created multiple quicken files in the past. I dont know of any reason why you couldn't have two Quicken files (Data files Im talking about) accessible to youur users.

Do you do this on a network?

Thanks

SOURCE: quicken deluxe 2008 - quicken

Sometimes a shortcut gets corrupted. Locate where quicken is located on your harddrive, typically it will be under c:\program files\intuit\ Then look for the launcher. It will end with .exe and make a new shortcut. You can first try double clicking on the file to see if it opens for you before making the shortcut.

If that doesn't work something else may have gotten corrupted and you may have to reinstall the program. I haven't used quicken for a few years so I can't guarentee this but I would check it out: -- Before reinstalling Quicken, if you find you have to, look for where your data files are stored. Unless you've specified otherwise it will probably be somewhere under your User Name in a folder. Rename that folder so it doesn't get overwritten when it reinstalls. Then once it is reinstalled you'll find it made a new folder with the name of the one you just reinstalled. Then it is just a matter of putting the old data in again, hopefully. Not all programs will work that way but many will so you won't loose whatever data you have. Hopefully just making a new shortcut is all you will need to do.

If you have your Quicken data file you should be able to convert and open it with a newer version of Quicken (Quick Books). What is the type and version of the new computer (i.e. Mac OSX, Windows 7, etc)?

Is Quicken99 compatible with Windows 7 and/or XP?

The best way to install older versions of Quicken on Vista or Windows 7 is to run the setup program through the Windows Compatibility feature:

In Control Panel search for 'compatibility' that will bring up an item 'Run program made for previous versions of Windows'.

Select this and step through the process which will eventually show a list of all programs loaded on the system.

Select the first option 'Not listed'. This will then prompt you for a location of the program.
Click 'Browse' and select the location of the Quicken install program (either CD or disk).

Once found, select the Quicken install program and continue. This will the suggest that the installer run in XP mode. Click 'Next' to run the installer.
