First, try running your virus scanner, if you dont have one there are numerous online free one: for example, here is a link to eset's online scanner: http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner

Honestly if it's a bad enough virus, it may have disabled your internet connection and your virus scanner. If this is the case your best bet is to just start from scratch....even if you get a scanner that "removes" the virus, there can still be bits and pieces of it lying around.

What you would want to do is Backup all your data (most likely to an external drive), and make note of all your important programs and verify that you have the right disks to install them or know where to download them.

Make sure you have your valid Windows CD that came with your computer, or that was used to install Windows on the computer the first time around.

From there you can use the appropriate instructions for your version of Windows here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/help/install-reinstall-uninstall

KEEP IN MIND!!!! That reinstalling windows will format your drive, and this means it will WIPE OUT ALL YOUR DATA...make sure you have created a backup and TESTED it before trying to reload Windows.

If these instructions sound a little over your head, it's probably best to have a pro take a look at it. Find your local techie or computer repair shop and they would be able to help you (but at a more premium cost) It is possible to do by yourself if you have the right disks and you back things up properly. If you are leery about that, it's best to leave it to a pro.

Good Luck

If it's not a bad infection (if you can browse the web, download and install programs) you can download free-antivirus programs and remove the virus that way. I suggest downloading Avast! or AVG, in addtion to Ad-Aware. If you can't remove the virus this way, you can download linux (any version will do) and run it on the computer that is infected, and remove the virus there.

Care to elaborate a little more? If you mean multiple webpages popping up without you clicking on any then your comp is infected with a particullarly nasty virus, start comp in safe mode and run ESET online scanner, if that fails run Hitman Pro from surfright.nl it's free also but only for 30 days

Download and install AVG Antivirus, it will remove all your virus infected files. You will need to re-install your operating system after the scanning and remove of the virus. But update first the antivirus before scanning. It is free.

Respected sir.....my comp.is affected by trojan horse virus..i got msg continously that unathosrized access ur comp..and harmful virus is detected on ur pc.sir how can i remove the virus. ...

Sorry to see you got infected, but I'm sure I can help with that.

Go to: www.download.com
In the Search bar, your going to search for each of these programs, download and install them one at a time.

1. CCleaner
2. Malwarebytes
3. Spybot Search and Destroy
4. Superantispyware Free Edition

Open them one at a time, and run them after checking for Updates. Do a Full/Complete scan to the pc, remove whatever they find and reboot when asked. After running all 4 of these, it should hammer out all the viruses from your PC.

Cheers!

Hi im trying to put pics from my camera to my comp all i get on the camera is busy i used it last week ..i got a virus my virus cleaner finally killed the virus but now i cant upload from my camera to the...

The best thing to transfer pics from camera to computer is not to transfer directly. Take out the memory card and load the pic through card reader. This is even faster and safer for your camera getting the virus. perhaps your camera is now virus infection but I just hope it's not. try it, that's what am doing.

Re: Notepad format HDD

You can use any disk as long as you own the license code. Do you know the type of virus and it's name. I could possibly help with a removal tool or advice if I know more.
